Open Post: Hosted By “Golden Girls” Memorabilia From Betty White’s Estate Auction

Consider this official notice to get your affairs in order! People reports that the estate of the dearly departed Hollywood legend Betty White will be holding an auction in September and will be chock-full of Golden Girls memorabilia including a script of the pilot, her on-set director’s chair and a dress she wore while doing publicity photos for the show in 1986. I’m still holding out hope that my numerous letters, emails, and phone calls to Anna Wintour suggesting Golden Glamor: Floridian Friends for next year’s Met Gala theme will be heeded. But Betty’s dress is the perfect opportunity for some enterprising young up-and-comer to snatch everybody’s wig at next year’s gala, regardless of theme. I challenge you to name another blond bombshell with Betty’s staying power. Betty was, and will always be, a timeless fashion icon.
Betty’s loot is being handled by Julien’s Auctions which will be offering over 1,500 lots over three days, in-person in Beverly Hills and online, beginning September 23. According to People:
Items will include awards, scripts, wardrobe and memorabilia from her iconic television shows and films, as well as furnishings, artwork, fine jewelry, household and personal items from her beloved homes in Brentwood and Carmel, California.
Personal items include Betty’s gold-leaf and diamond wedding ring from her favorite husband Allen Ludden (starting bid: $600-800) a vintage Van Cleef & Arpels diamond and sapphire brooch ($14,000-$16,000), and all those GG goodies that are sure to have people digging deep into their kaftan pockets for. Here’s a look at the GG press dress (a steal at $600-800) plus a few other items mentioned above.
Fuck, I just realized my kaftan doesn’t have pockets. Can anybody space 8,001 dimes?
