Thandiwe Netwon Was Spotted Kissing A New Man In LA After Leaving Production On “Magic Mike 3” In London
It would appear that Thandiwe Newton did not end up going to traditional rehab after her abrupt departure from filming Magic Mike’s Last Dance in London last week. Instead, she seems to have opted for some slightly more hole-istic treatment in the arms of a younger man. People reports that days after her husband of 24 years, director Ol Parker, was spotted out and about in London with a helluva a tan line on that finger, Thandiwe was spotted kissing 25-year-old musician Lonr in Malibu. And spare me the “Lonr, I hardly know her jokes!” Lonr, whose real name is Elijah Dias, told Page Six “from the relatively short time I’ve been fortunate to spend with her, I know Thandiwe and Oliver care deeply about the welfare of their children.” And he didn’t even plug an album! So yes, he hardly knows her, but he’s more than willing to Lonr his lips while she deals with this difficult situation.
Thankfully, this development means we can eliminate The Slap at the Oscars as the prime suspect, this is much spicier anyway. As previously reported, Thandiwe reportedly quit work on Magic Mike 3, 11 days into shooting citing “family matters,” and was replaced by Salma Hayek. Her team denied that a fight with Channing Tatum or any other on-set drama was to blame. We then learned that her marriage to Ol, with whom she shares 3 children, was on the rocks. But it looks like she prefers her cocktails straight up now, with twists. According to People:
Thandiwe Newton appears to have a new man in her life.
The actress, 49, was photographed kissing musician Lonr over the weekend in Malibu, California, days after her husband of 24 years, Ol Parker, was spotted without his wedding ring.
Newton and Lonr (real name: Elijah Dias) were snapped with their arms around one another as they stepped out together on Saturday, with the Westworld actress in a green printed hoodie and coordinating bucket hat. She was not wearing a wedding ring.
Lonr — who appears on the soundtrack for Newton’s 2021 film Reminiscence — was also dressed casually for the outing, in a black hoodie and red pants.
“From the relatively short time I’ve been fortunate to spend with her, I know Thandiwe and Oliver care deeply about the welfare of their children,” Lonr told The New York Post‘s Page Six. “That’s all I care about right now.”
Page Six adds that Ol and Thandiwe haven’t been photographed together in public since the season 3 premier of Westworld back in March of 2020. Hmm, that date sounds familiar. I feel like something happened around then, but I can’t seem to remember anything that happened before The Slap. Anyway, here’s Thandiwe and Lonr out and about in Malibu.
As for the Magical Michael of it all, Page Six notes that “those close to Newton reportedly wanted her to leave for treatment immediately” following her exit but that she “wanted to stay in London because Dias was visiting, the insider claimed.” Which of course suggests her relationship with Lonr started before she returned to California. The Daily Mail adds:
Thandiwe and the rapper’s professional paths crossed in 2021 when Dias collaborated with Amber Mark on the track Save My Love.
Born in Los Angeles, Dias is a Grammy nominated rapper and musician who performs under the name Lonr – an acronym of Land of Nothing Real.
He entered the music industry with single A.M and he released his debut EP, also titled Land of Nothing Real, in 2020.
He is a credible songwriter and has received nominations for multiple Grammy Awards for contributing to H.E.R’s projects in 2019.
