Megan Thee Stallion Details Her Shooting Allegations Against Tory Lanez To Gayle King On “CBS Mornings”
Back in 2020, Megan Thee Stallion ended up in the headlines and also the hospital after she was allegedly shot by rapper Tory Lanez. The two had left a party in Hollywood when the shooting took place and rumors swirled about why it happed; some suggested it was because Megan was jealous of Tory flirting with Kylie Jenner. Megan spoke to CBS Mornings today and told Gayle King about the incident for the first time since it happened.
Currently, Tory Lanez is facing charges in Los Angeles of felony assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle because of the incident with Megan. And, he violated the protective order that Megan has against him last year at the Rolling Loud music festival and had his bail increased to $250,000. So there are some pretty serious consequences coming his way, and another court hearing is scheduled for this coming September. Megan still has bullet fragments in her foot and she previously released the text messages that she alleges show Tory apologizing for shooting her and saying he was drunk, but Tory’s team tried to spin those messages and say he was apologizing for flirting with another girl. Any girl who Tory is flirting with: BEWARE! Tory has denied all the allegations against him and has said that he’s being “framed.”
That brings us to this weekend when Megan’s interview with Gayle King aired and she got into the details of Tory allegedly shooting her after saying, “Dance, bitch!” Megan says Tory shot her as they argued over her wanting to go home. via Variety:
Gayle: “There was an argument in the car?”
Megan: “It–it was a argument because I was ready to go and everybody else wasn’t ready to go. But that’s, like, normal friend stuff.”
Gayle: “Yes.”
Megan: “Like, we fuss about silly shit, silly stuff all the time. But I never put my hands on anybody. I never raised my voice too loud. Like, this was one of them times where it was, like, it shouldn’t have got this crazy.”
Gayle: “It shouldn’t have escalated to–”
Megan: “Right. So I get out of the car and it’s like everything happens so fast. And all I hear is this man screaming. And he said, “Dance, bitch.” And he started shooting. And I’m just like, “Oh, my God.””
Megan: “Like, he shot a couple of times. And I– I was so scared–”
Gayle: “So is he in the car shooting from the car, Megan? How is he–”
Megan: “He is standin’ up over the window shooting. And I didn’t even want to move. I didn’t want to move too quick. Like, ’cause I’m like, “Oh, my God. If I take the wrong step, I don’t know if he’s gonna shoot something that’s, like, super important. I don’t know if he could shoot me and kill me.” Like–”
Gayle: “Were you afraid for your life at that time?”
Megan: “I was really scared ’cause I had never been shot at before.”

Here’s a bit more of Megan on CBS Mornings:
Rapper @theestallion says she knew she could rap at 7 years old — and by the time she got to college, "Megan Thee Stallion” became her identity.

Well, Gayle got the interview with Megan. Now all she has to do is also interview Tory himself. And she’s interviewed R. Kelly already in the past, so she’s well-trained in how to interview likely-guilty messes.
