Jada Pinkett Smith Sort Of Touches Upon Will Smith’s Oscars Slap On “Red Table Talk”

April 22, 2022 / Posted by:

Of course, we’re still talking about the slap heard around the world that echoed off the walls of the Oscars when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock live on television. Since then, Will has been banned from going to all Academy events for ten years. The fifth season of Jada Pinkett Smith’s Facebook talk show, Red Table Talk, premiere this week, and when the trailer was released, there were zero signs of the Oscars slap, which slapped many with a load of SHOCK because people were expecting the Smiths to milk the shit out of this mess. But don’t worry! Jada has come through, sort of.

At the top of the first episode of RTT’s the fifth season, Jada gets into how her family is healing and how there will be healing at the table and they’ll be healed with healing thoughts. In case you didn’t know, Jada really loves the word “healing.” via CNN:

“Considering all that has happened in the last few weeks, the Smith family has been focused on deep healing,” a title card read at the beginning of the episode. “Some of the discoveries around our healing will be shared at the table when the time calls… Until then the table will continue offering itself to powerful, inspiring and healing testimonies like that of our incredibly impressive first guest.”

The episode was released on Wednesday.

After the title cards were shown, the show continued with a pre-taped segment that was filmed before the Oscars on March 27. Pinkett Smith, her daughter, Willow Smith, and her mother, Adrienne Banfield Norris spoke with guest Janelle Monáe.

Since this season of RTT is all about HEALING (Although, isn’t every season?), I’m sure Jada’s people are really trying to land an exclusive interview with Chris Rock’s cheek so that she can ask it about how long it took to heal after her husband slapped it down.

Here’s the healing premiere episode of RTT:
