Rihanna And A$AP Rocky Were Reportedly “Blindsided” By His Arrest

Since the only high Rihanna’s on these days is floating around on a cloud of natal bliss, A$AP Rocky is probably smoking for two right now after getting arrested at LAX in connection to an alleged shooting incident that took place in November of last year. Yesterday, Rocky and Rih’s private jet was met by LAPD as they returned from what looked like a fun-filled vacation in Barbados, and Rocky spent a WFT-filled 3 hours in police custody, during which time LAPD conducted a search of his home, before being released after posting bail set at $550,000. According to TMZ, Rihanna and Rocky were “totally blindsided” by his arrest, and Rocky’s team is wondering why the LAPD didn’t just contact his attorney and have him voluntarily surrender, which is apparently, “very common procedure” for them. But what’s the fun in that? Doing it this way, the LAPD got to bust out their tactical gear and use their battering ram in front of TMZ’s cameras to bust through Rocky’s gates!

While no charges have been filed as of yet, Rocky was arrested for “assault with a deadly weapon” and is being investigated for his alleged involvement in an altercation that took place on the night of November 6 in Hollywood, just steps away from the world-famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. A man claims to have been shot at by Rocky “three to four times” during an argument and that he “believes” a bullet grazed his hand. Look, it’s hard to remember details when you’re surrounded by the magic and majesty of Hollywood Blvd on a Saturday night. According to TMZ, the LAPD executed a search warrant to look for the possible weapon.

A$AP Rocky was totally blindsided by cops when they showed up at a private, LAX terminal and put him in handcuffs … all while a pregnant and equally shocked Rihanna looked on.

Law enforcement sources tell us … cops chose not to give Rocky or his team a heads up. In fact, we’re told the arrest was more than a week in the making.

Our law enforcement sources say the reason they blindsided Rocky was because they wanted to see if they could find the gun used in the shooting. As we reported, cops believe A$AP shot a man in Hollywood during an argument back in November. The bullet grazed the victim’s hand. Cops wanted to find the gun and worried if they gave Rocky a heads up, he might 86 it. That’s why they coordinated the arrest and the search of his home so both went down at the same time.

Unfortunately, the LAPD has not released any new information about the incident in question, so I’m going to have to assume Rocky was just there to break up a fight between two costumed Spider-Men beefing for turf and things got out of hand. TMZ says “The D.A. has the case, and should make a decision soon on whether to file charges,” and NBC News reports that Rocky has a court date set for August 17th. If it comes to that, Rihanna’s going to be pumping and dumping like a mother-fucker since she’ll have to be the one smoking for two.
