Open Post: Hosted By The Florida Man Who Has Seen “Spider-Man: No Way Home” 292 Times In Theaters
Ramiro Alanis, a Marvel-obsessed super fan from Florida, has set the record for “most cinema productions attended of the same film” after seeing Spider-Man: No Way Home 292 times between December 16 2021 and March 15 of this year. That’s only 90 days. By that math, Ramiro would’ve had to watch the movie 3.24 times a day (eight hours!) and he says he shelled out $3,400 for tickets. I have so, so many questions (most of them begin with, “WHY?!?”), but, as someone who’s watched, like, 50 episodes of Frasier in the last week, I have no right to judge.
This isn’t the first time Ramiro set this record. He first broke it back in 2019, when he went to 191 screenings of Avengers: Endgame. Unfortunately, he lost the title two years later, when Arnaud Klein went to see something called Kaamelott: First Instalment 204 times in 2021. Ramiro told Guinness World Records that he was “a little bit disappointed” when Arnaud surpassed his movie-watching time, and he decided to attempt the record again in honor of his late grandmother, Juany, who he says was his “#1 supporter.” He says he wants to keep the record this time, and, “if anyone tries to break my record again, I want them to think twice before attempting it.”
Here are a couple of Ramiro’s tweets celebrating his broken record. His social media is filled with photos of him with actors from the Marvel universe:

At first, I thought that maybe Ramiro was really good at multi-tasking, and he was taking his laptop into screenings and getting other shit done. But, apparently, in order for each viewing to be counted towards the record, “the movie must be watched independently of any other activity.” So Ramiro couldn’t look at his phone, take a nap, or even go to the bathroom while the movie was running. He had to stay until after the credits and keep each ticket stub as evidence. Theater attendants also had to give statements confirming Ramiro watched the movie.
Ramiro is a personal trainer, and he said he lost 16 pounds of muscle during the three months he attempted the record. And what about all of Ramiro’s poor clients? “Yeah, I gained like 50 pounds this winter cuz my personal trainer abandoned me to watch Spider-Man 300 times.”
