BREAKING NEWS: JoJo Siwa Chopped Off Her Signature Ponytail

April 8, 2022 / Posted by:

Ya hear that? It’s the 100,000 hairs on JoJo Siwa’s head breathing a collective sigh of relief, for they are finally free. Free! Their host-mother has chopped off her trademark scalp-scraping, hairline-yanking high pony, and opted for a much shorter do. 18-year-old JoJo debuted her new look on Instagram and captioned her selfie, “HAPPPPPY.” Awww, she’s distancing herself from JoJo Siwa® the Brand and embracing JoJo Siwa the Out and Proud Human!

Before she posted the results, JoJo uploaded a video of the ponytail getting chopped, appropriately set to Demi Lovato’s 205 Sapphic anthem, “Cool for the Summer”:

Soon after, she posted a selfie:

Today JoJo posted a follow-up video to her Instagram stories, showing off how she styled her hair differently on Day 2. She said:

So I just got my hair cut yesterday, and yesterday I went for like a down and curly moment. But today, I went for like, an up and back moment. And I don’t know, the picture that I posted was from yesterday when it was down and kind of curled.

But lemme know what y’all think. I think I might be into the up and back! I mean, it’s gonna be different every day, as I’m still learning how to do it. It’s way different than long hair, it’s crazy, but I’m obsessed!

I’m Team Up And Back, for the record:

JoJo got a lot of support on social media, including fans who celebrated her getting a “classic lesbian haricut”:

Somewhere Ariana Grande’s ponytail is shaking. Could she be next?
