“Morbius” Director Daniel Espinosa Confirms That Jared Leto Pretended To Be Disabled In Between Takes

Uproxx spoke with Daniel Espinosa, director of the absolutely shit-can-stinker of a comic book movie Morbius, which stars Jared Leto and brought in $84 million worldwide over the weekend. Uproxx didn’t ask Daniel Espinosa the question, “WHY?!!!!!,” in regards to casting eye-roll-inducing method actor Jared Leto, but Uproxx did ask Daniel about Jared’s method ways, and brought up the claim that Jared was so “committed” to the role that he even used his crutches to go to the bathroom in between takes. Daniel confirmed that as true and also confirmed that they eventually got someone to push Jared to the pot in a wheelchair because his piss breaks were taking too long. Whoever was in charge of wheeling Jared Leto should’ve wheeled his exhausting ass out the exit door and never looked back. Although, they should’ve clapped for Jared while doing so since he has achieved the impossible by finding a way to be even more insufferable. That’s a feat!

In Morbius, Jared plays Michael Morbius, a doctor who suffers from a blood disease and uses vampire blood to try to cure himself. Morbius’ blood disease makes him really weak so he uses crutches to get around. And since Jared is THEE ACK-TOR of ACK-TORS, he even used his crutches after Daniel yelled “cut.” Jared, I mean, Morbius, limping to the bathroom was slowing down filming, so they got him a wheelchair. You can practically hear Daniel’s eyes rolling as he talks about this mess:

Uproxx: “I heard a story about filming and I want to see if this is true. Someone told me that Jared Leto was so committed to playing Michael Morbius that even when he had to go to the bathroom, he would use his crutches and slowly limp to get to the bathroom. But it was taking so long between for pee breaks, that a deal was made with him to get him a wheelchair so someone could wheel him there quicker and he agreed to that. Is this true?”

Daniel: “Yes.”

Uproxx: “All right.”

Daniel: “Yeah. Because I think that what Jared thinks, what Jared believes, is that somehow the pain of those movements, even when he was playing normal Michael Morbius, he needed, because he’s been having this pain his whole life. Even though, as he’s alive and strong, it has to be a difference. Hey, man, it’s people’s processes.”

Uproxx: “Yeah.”

Daniel: “All of the actors believe in processes. And you, as director, you support whatever makes it as good as you can be.”

It’s cool that Jared puts so much effort into being bad. Jared annoyed everyone with his method-acting antics while making Suicide Squad, which is also the worst-reviewed DC movie. So not only is he the star of a horrible DC movie, he’s now the star of a horrible Marvel movie. He’s a comic book legend! At flopping!
