Idris Elba Reveals The “West Coast” Track Requested By Meghan Markle At Her Royal Wedding Reception

Prior to marrying Prince Harry and running away from royal life and into the arms of multi-million dollar Netflix deals, Meghan Markle enjoyed all the accouterments of royal life. Well, enjoyed may be the wrong word because the Royals were as welcoming as a dentist using razor blades to extract teeth. And those perks included getting hot piece Idris Elba to DJ since you know, Idris is a DJ too. Now I’m sure you were initially envisioning a high tea with THE QUEEN making everyone curtsy as she mewed outdated phrases like “Pish tosh” and “Tally ho!” but that wasn’t the case at all. In fact, Idris mentioned one requested song that surprised him a bit.
On Saturday Idris (or Big Driis as he’s known on the Ones and Twos) co-hosted BBC’s 1Xtra Rap Show when host Tiffany Carver asked what songs he played for his set with the Sussexes. Of course, he admitted to playing Whitney Houston’s wedding reception anthem “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” because that’s always on someone’s playlist. But when he revealed a hip hop classic by husband of the century Dr. Dre and walking marijuana leaf Snoop Dogg that’s when the story got way more interesting. via People:
“What is the vibe of a Harry and Meghan wedding?” she asked. “What tune was the one that got everyone going crazy?”
Elba revealed that guests “went off” when Whitney Houston’s “I Want to Dance with Somebody” played, then added that “Still D.R.E.” by Dr. Dre featuring Snoop Dogg was another big hit.
“It was Meghan’s choice,” he added of the rap song.

Tiffany asked for more information, and that’s when Idris had to hit her with a bunch of words that sounds like he may have already broken the NDA everyone probably signed prior to the event.
When asked to disclose what songs made the set, Elba shared: “There was some West Coast on it.” He was reluctant, however, to share any further details after being questioned if by “West Coast” he meant Californian rappersĀ TupacĀ orĀ Dr. Dre.
“I’m not gonna put their business out like that, that’s not fair,” Elba said during the interview. “Ask Meghan and Harry.
“Not gonna put their business out like that” translates to, “You know how sue-happy those two are and I’m not about to get sued for telling you all that Meghan crip walked all over the place during the opening of Still Dre.”
