Pink Went Off On Rolling Stone Magazine For Snubbing Her From A List Of The 25 Best Grammys Performances
Pink has performed numerous times at the Grammys over the years, but in one of Rolling Stone‘s articles–“The 25 Greatest Grammy Performances of All Time”–Pink was not mentioned once! So she roasted Rolling Stone in their comments section and now it’s news, so people are going to look for the list and click on it. Meaning, that Rolling Stone probably won this one thanks to Pink!
This is the article that has Pink so riled up. The list features performances by Dua Lipa and Saint Vincent, Taylor Swift, Prince, Whitney Houston, and lots of others. Kendrick Lamar is at the top spot with his 2016 performance of The Blacker The Berry/Alright.
But Pink was not having this. She must have scrolled through waiting to see herself singing Glitter In The Air at the 2010 Grammys when she was not only suspended from the ceiling as usual but also, her ass was dipped into a tank of water and still hit all her notes. But that wasn’t enough to get Pink on the list and she let RS know how she felt about that, via Entertainment Tonight Canada:
“Bahahahaha you guys have been irrelevant since 1990,” she wrote in the comments on an Instagram post promoting the article.
She continued in the comments, “This is the magazine that used to feature people like John Lennon and Muddy Waters. Hunter S Thompson wrote political pieces- they put Tina Turner on their cover. Then they sold out and all credibility went to shit when “style over substance” and “revenue over authenticity” went into play.”
Pink criticized the magazine for their current coverage and content, including writing about reality TV stars. “That’s when Snooki became acceptable coverage. Give me a fucking break. Do your homework. You don’t have to like me or my music or anything about me- and believe me I could give a shit- but this is the biggest sellout in fucking history when it comes to a publication we all once trusted,” she said.
“Fuck rolling stone. And I’ve felt that way for decades as so many of my favorite artists and my peers have,” she added. “This isn’t just about their horrendous opinion of “rating Grammy performances.” It’s decades of wasting Trees and people’s time.”
Pink also posted a picture of her performing Try at the 2016 Grammys to show RS just how much they fucked up:
You know, Pink does not put her body through Cirque du Soleil-level danger just to be ignored by magazine lists that really don’t mean anything! She’s out here having “brutal” hip breaks and recoveries in the name of art and RS can’t even toss her a top 5? No respect!
