Justin Bieber Was An Oversized Menswear Mess At The Grammys Last Night

Most rich, famous red carpet-going people work with a stylist, which is truly the easiest way to get dressed before a big red carpet event. I could look up the name of the person with which Justin Bieber finds himself before a big event. But based on the look he wore to the 2022 Grammy Awards last night, it’s more fun to assume who Justin’s stylist was. And the easiest guess would be: Someone who didn’t know Justin’s suit size beforehand, ran into an NBA player’s closet on the way to Justin’s house, and screamed, “Oh god, please tell me you have something smaller than a 3XL in here.

Justin was nominated for 8 awards at last night’s Grammy ceremony, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year, and he rolled onto the red carpet with his wife, Hailey Bieber, who clearly got the memo that the Grammys were a fancy industry event worthy of some expensive, well-tailored couture, and not a junior high homecoming dance where your mom buys you an awkward suit from Sears that you’ll eventually grow into. Justin’s look reminded everyone of David Byrne in Stop Making Sense but I also got Jimbo Jones from The Simpsons, if he suddenly started dating a hacker who committed misdemeanor credit card fraud against Principal Skinner.

Vogue tells us that Justin’s baggy suit and his Super Mario Bros. boots were all by Balenciaga. And of course, the internet managed to roast his ass like a Thanksgiving turkey over it.

Justin took a risk last night, and today Comedian Twitter owes Justin a giant thanks for providing them with the easiest material of their careers. Justin probably doesn’t even care that everyone is dunking on him for looking like one of the Rugrats playing grown-up dress-up. All he has to do is look back at a picture of himself with dreadlocks or that patchy dirt ‘stache and shrug,  “Whatever, that sloppy suit is far from the most embarrassing style choice I’ve tried.”
