Ezra Miller Was Arrested In Hawaii For Acting A Mess At A Bar

On today’s episode of We Need Talk About Ezra, Ezra Miller was put into handcuffs early Monday morning after turning paradise into a violent hellscape of insufferableness. Variety says that 29-year-old Ezra was arrested at a bar in Hilo, Hawaii after allegedly screaming shit at people, snatching a mic from a woman singing karaoke, and going after a dude who was just trying to play darts. Yup, Ezra trumped “drunken mess warbling out Don’t Stop Believin’ for the tenth time” (yes, I’m guilty of that) as the most annoying thing in a karaoke bar. Ezra was booked on disorderly conduct charges and posed in a mug shot that’s a cross between “serial killer whose neighbors describe as ‘quiet and kept to themselves” and “DC villain out of DC villain drag in a gritty origin movie.”

This mess started on Sunday night when the Hawai’i County Police Department got a call about a disruptive piece of messiness who was bothering everyone at a bar. Ezra was that disruptive piece of messiness. The owner of the bar reportedly asked Extra Miller (and I don’t mean “Extra” in a good way here) to chill the fuck out several times but when Ezra did not chill the fuck out, the cops were called. Ezra and their cheekbones of doom were arrested on disorderly conduct and harassment charges. Ezra was eventually released after posting $500 bail. Police described Ezra as a “Vermont visitor” because Ezra lives on a farm with their goats in Vermont. But still, why did the police have to drag Vermont into this! Both Ben AND Jerry and even Ezra’s goats are probably hanging their heads in shame like, “We don’t claim Ezra as a Vermonter!”

According to a post by the Hawai’i County Police Department, South Hilo officers responded to a report of a disorderly bar patron on Sunday evening at 11:30 p.m. Police determined that the agitator had become unruly while other patrons sang karaoke and had begun “yelling obscenities.” Miller then “grabbed the microphone from a 23-year-old woman singing karaoke and later lunged at a 32-year-old man playing darts.”

Miller was arrested and charged on offenses of disorderly conduct and harassment. Bail was set at $500, which Miller provided, with law enforcement subsequently releasing them from custody.

Anyone who has made “run the other way if you see Ezra Miller coming toward you” as one of their rules to live by knows this is not Ezra’s first time at the disorderly conduct rodeo. In 2011, Ezra was arrested in Pennsylvania for disorderly conduct and drug possession. Those charges were later reduced to two citations of disorderly conduct. In 2020, Ezra was escorted away from a bar in Iceland for getting violent with a fan by choking her. And in January of this year, Ezra randomly posted an Instagram video where Ezra told members of a KKK chapter in Beulaville, North Carolina to kill themselves and also threatened to shoot them (the Southern Poverty Law Center, a civil rights organization that monitors hate groups, later said that it hasn’t tracked any KKK activity in Beulaville in recent years.)

Ezra’s big DC movie, The Flash, comes out next year, and they’re also in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, which comes out next month. So I’m sure Eddie Redmayne and the other actors of Secrets of Dumbledore are really looking forward to doing interviews for it since they’ll be asked about JK Rowling, Johnny Depp, and now Ezra Miller. Tylenol’s probably going to sponsor that headache of a promo tour.
