Taron Egerton Is Out Of “Cock” For A Week Because He Has COVID

Taron Egerton has been having a rough time with Cock (Aren’t we all?). And we’re talking about Cock, the play that Taron is currently starring in at the Ambassador Theatre in London’s West End. Earlier this month, Taron fainted during a performance of the play and was replaced by his understudy Joel Harper-Jackson. Well, Taron is now off the Cock for a week because he got COVID-19.

Cock is about a man in a gay relationship who begins to question his sexuality when he falls in love with a woman he meets. Taron plays the questioning man’s partner, Bridgerton‘s Jonathan Bailey plays the questioning guy and Jade Anouka is the woman he meets. The play is scheduled to run for 12 weeks. And now Joel will be stepping in for Taron again. via  Deadline:

Taron Egerton has contracted Covid and will not perform this week in his London play Cock

The show’s producers confirmed the Covid news in a statement posted Wednesday to Instagram. “Taron Egerton has unfortunately tested positive for Covid,” the statement says. “In accordance with the production’s health & safety protocols, he will now isolate and we expect Taron to return to the show next week.”

I’m sure Taron will be back on the Cock as soon as he possibly can. Can’t keep a good actor away from Cock for long! It’s a dedication to Cock that really separates the true professionals from the amateurs. And when he returns, I’m sure he’ll say during the curtain call, “I’m back, so can you all stop with the Cock jokes already!”
