“The Bachelor” Contestant Daria Rose Spent $4,400 On Wardrobe Only To Be Eliminated On Night One
Daria Rose was a contestant on this season of The Bachelor which is airing now. And in a TikTok and an article on Insider, she gets into how she dropped $4,400 on glamorous ensembles for the show, but instead of touching a rose on the first night, she probably touched the keys on her phone to type in TheRealReal on her browser so she could sell that shit and maybe come out even!
The Bachelor of this season is Clayton Echard, who was on season 18 of The Bachelorette. After meeting all 30 contestants on the first night, Clayton whittled it down to 22 contestants. Daria is one of the unlucky women who got let go in that first cut but, hey, she looked good. This is the blue Sandra gown by Dress the Population that Daria bought from Lord & Taylor for $200.
In her Insider article, Daria explains how much she spent on each of her looks:
For my grand entrance, I wore a blue Sandra gown by Dress the Population, which I purchased from Lord & Taylor for $200. To complete the outfit, I bought a pair of white lace-up heels by the Black designer Kendall Miles for $400. While I didn’t get to wear anything else on TV, I also bought and packed: Red illegal halter gown from Revolve: $220. Pink Elle Woods-inspired pantsuit from Revolve: $400. Emerald-green mermaid-cut gown from Alamour the Label: $420. Hot-pink Reno dress from Abyss by Abby: $350. Red off-the-shoulder Allure gown from Revolve: $320.
Daria says that she spent so much because it was “important” that her “fashion choices highlighted a diverse group of designers.” Daria mentions one light-pink gown she bought for $312 by designer Latoia Fitzgerald for Lionne Clothing. But here’s the thing, if Daria went home the first night, how would people know without reading this article? Hopefully, people still enjoy reading things… SPOILER ALERT!
Daria says she also blew through $800 on “recommended packing items” like some random “tops, jeans, athleisure, and pajamas,” as well as hair-care tools and makeup which totaled about $1,000 in itself. Daria plans to donate the gowns she bought and at least she can still use the makeup over time. Or start a drag career and burn through it in a month. Here’s her TikTok:

Daria should kind of expect to go home the first night. The odds are 30-to-1 that you’re staying till the end. Also, a Splinter study found that 59% of Black contestants went home within the first two weeks. As in, the first two episodes. So the odds were against Daria from the beginning.
But things could have been worse for Daria. The whole explosive moment teased this season seems to be when Clayton reveals to two different women that he slept with both of them and said he loved both of them and they both freak the fuck out. So Daria may be out $4,400 but at least she got out with her sanity!
