The Fairy Tails!
When the gloriously gay creatures of the 1980s, My Little Pony, became a huge hit for Hasbro after making their debut on the toy scene in 1981, Hasbro thought, “Well, if kids love those colorful equine beauties of elegance, they’ll LOVE our colorful Aves of elegance.” And the Fairy Tales were born. They were a line of stunningly exquisite birds that looked like they flew directly out of the pastel-colored b-holes of the 80s. In other words, whimsically beautiful.
Ghost of the Doll says that the Fairy Tails were produced by Hasbro from 1986 to 1987. Yeah, they only lasted a year. The people were just not ready for that much high-flying glamour. The OG line-up of the Fairy Tales included twelve birds, and long before the Kardashian terrorized the letter K, the Fairy Tails beautified the letter T. Because each character’s name started with a T. There was Taffeta Tails, Twinkle Tails (my next Grindr username), Tricky Tails, True Love Tails, Tu Tu Tails, and Tickle Tails (actually, that’s my next Grindr username). Fairy Tails could stand on their own, or you could look like an acid trip Snow White by holding one on your finger.
The Original Set of Fairy Tails had twelve characters (unlike any other series which had just six). Each bird came with a stand, comb and ribbons.
