The “Tinder Swindler” Has Been Sued By The Diamond Family He Has Claimed To Be A Part Of

Simon Leviev was born Shimon Hayut and according to the Netflix documentary, The Tinder Swindler, he changed his name and pretended to be a member of the Leviev family who are diamond-industry billionaires. Simon allegedly conned women using his made-up persona by wining and dining them before begging them for money because his enemies were after him and he didn’t want to use his credit cards (since they’re trackable). Simon has since been banned from many dating apps. But don’t worry, he’s finding other ways to bring in the money. On top of a book he’s writing and charging $200 for Cameos, he is charging $20,000 for club appearances. Hopefully, he’s saving his money from those gigs because the Leviev family has sued his ass.

Sources tell TMZ that Simon has gotten offers to appear at clubs in Philadelphia, Boston, Germany, and Mexico.

Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ … Simon has several offers from clubs in Philly, Boston, Germany and Mexico, and he’s at least interested, because his team responded with a laundry list of demands.

We’re told he’s asking for the $20,000 payday, plus bottle service … but it doesn’t stop there. Leviev’s also requesting a private jet, suite at a 5-star hotel, black SUV car service and 2 full-time security guards.

E! News adds that Simon is being sued by the Leviev family according to some documents that they got a hold of yesterday. Lev Leviev is the diamond magnate whom Simon allegedly pretended to be the son of, and E! got a statement from Chagit Leviev, Lev’s actual daughter.

In a statement to E! News, Chagit Leviev, the daughter of Israeli diamond magnate Lev Leviev and an heiress to the family’s fortune, said the multi-million dollar lawsuit aims to get Simon (born Shimon Hayut) to “face justice and get the sentence he deserves… Shimon Hayut is a fraud who stole our family’s identity and has tried to exploit our good name to con victims out of millions of dollars… He has no relation to the Leviev family and has no affiliation with our company LLD Diamonds.”

Chagit continued, “I am relieved that his real identity and actions have been globally exposed, and hopefully this will bring an end to his unscrupulous actions.”

Chagit isn’t a plaintiff in the lawsuit. Plaintiffs include her relatives Zevulun Leviev, Ayelet Leviev Jacobson, Ruthy Leviev Yelizerov, and Hagit Sofiev Leviev, and the family company, LLD Diamonds USA, LLC. The lawsuit has been filed in Tel Aviv and accuses Simon of “making false representations as being the son of Lev Leviev and receiving numerous benefits (including material ones).”

The documents also state that Simon “defrauded, cheated, conned, falsified, and hurt women, men and businesses” around the world while “impersonating” as a member of their family and using their “wealthy” reputation.

The family alleges that Simon took “without permission” a photo of Lev and Ayelet and used Photoshop to edit himself into the family shot. Per the suit, “He presented the ‘fixed’ photo to women and men as proof of being a Leviev family member, thereby making a misrepresentation that he is a part of the family, and did so to generate personal profit and mislead the public.”

Accusations in the lawsuit include defamation, invasion of privacy and breach of trademarks. The Leviev family said that Simon’s “despicable actions” defame and “humiliate” them.

…Attorney Guy Ophir, who represents the Leviev family, told E! News this legal action is only the beginning of a number of lawsuits. “In the next [phase] we will file a monetary suit against Simon and any other affiliate that will work with him, including some websites that have Joint ventures with Simon and/or have offered to buy cameos from him,” the lawyer said. “Anyone that will try to capitalize from this scheme will be sued.”

Simon’s rep spoke to E! as well and thinks the Leviev family is suing him for attention:

In response to the filing, a rep for Simon told E! News, “Simon believes the family is just trying to insert themselves in the narrative for publicity after the show’s success.” They added, “Simon also legally changed his name in 2015 and looks forward to this getting thrown out in court.”

Why would anyone want to be associated with scamming people out of money? But really, it’s only a matter of time before Simon joins OnlyFans. Of course, he had better settle his legal situation with the Leviev family before. But once he does, he just needs to trademark “The Diamond Dick” and watch the merchandising cash roll in (not really)!
