Queen Elizabeth Is Recovering From COVID, And Is Visiting Family Again

When it was announced last week that 95-year-old Queen Elizabeth had been diagnosed with COVID-19, I’m sure a whole lot of people started preparing for the not-best, or threw on their tinfoil hats, grabbed their copy of Weekend at Bernie’s, and started speculating about the real truth of Liz’s health (especially in the wake of the news that she had started canceling virtual engagements). But here we are, The Queen is on the mend, and is well enough to be making house calls.

People magazine is reporting that The Queen was feeling well enough to squeeze in two virtual meetings on Tuesday at Windsor Castle. They note that The Queen’s virtual visits were the first time Her Majesty has been seen in the flesh since her COVID diagnosis was announced to the public. Here she is, in all her 22-inch computer monitor display glory!

There are no doubt people who want to know if either His Excellency Mr. Carles Jordana Madero or His Excellency Mr. Kedella Younous Hamidi tested The Queen to see if she really was live on the other end of that little Zoom meeting. Like asking her if she’d like to join them in a knock-knock joke, or kindly requesting The Queen to accurately describe the weather outside her window. But let’s all just choose to believe The Queen was legitimately putting in some work. Plus, it’s not like The Queen was limited to just a few live on-screen appearances. People says that Liz was well enough to go and hang out with several of her grandkids and great-grandkids. You know a person has really got COVID’s ass in a headlock if their doctor says it’s okay for them to visit a bunch of children. That’s ground zero for germs!

On Sunday, the Queen met up with Prince William, Kate Middleton and their three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – in the winter sunshine at Frogmore House, which is on the grounds of Windsor Castle. Princess Beatrice and her 5-month-old daughter Sienna were also there for the visit.

There’s no word on whether or not masks were involved in The Queen’s visit with her family. As you may recall, The Queen tested positive after hanging out with her son, Prince Charles, who ended up testing positive for COVID for the second time, while his wife Duchess Camilla tested positive for the first time. The Queen ended up attending an event maskless. But I bet The Queen practiced social distancing during her visit since she was hanging out with four kids under the age of 8. You see one of those kids approaching your pastel wool dry clean only coat with a set of grubby cake-covered fingers and you’d be shouting, “Six feet of distance, PLEASE” too.
