Country Star Sam Hunt’s Pregnant Wife Has Filed For Divorce And Is Accusing Him Of Two-Timing Her

Well, I’ll be honest – his isn’t exactly the personal life trajectory I saw for country singer Sam Hunt. Then again, the man is no stranger to messiness (as his wrong-way DUI will attest), so maybe I should have opened my eyes just a little wider on ol’ Sam. Sam transitioned from a college football career to a country singer with his debut album, Montevallo, which was all about how much he loved his high school sweetheart-turned-wife, Hannah Lee Fowler. That album feels extra-ironic today, because Hannah just filed for divorce, while pregnant with their first kid, and the reason given on those divorce papers is that Sam allegedly couldn’t keep it faithful to the woman worth writing a whole album about.

Not all of Sam’s songs are about Hannah, but he does have a lot of songs about her. To the point that Sam eventually released a single called “Drinking Too Much,” where he apologized to Hannah for turning her and her Alabama hometown into a public thing with his first album and implied she was pissed that she became The Official Girlfriend of Sam Hunt with almost zero consent. He’s also admitted through song to cheating on Hannah and wanting to do right by her. That’s already a bit too much drama for most people’s tastes. But still, they ended up getting married in April 2017. And now, they’re getting a divorce after 14 years as a couple, five of which were spent married. via TMZ:

Hannah Lee Fowler claims in her legal docs, obtained by TMZ, Sam is “guilty of inappropriate marital conduct,” and she goes on … “guilty of adultery.”

The boilerplate code section Hannah cites reads, “The husband is guilty of such cruel and inhuman treatment or conduct toward the spouse as renders cohabitation unsafe or improper.”

Hannah never announced her pregnancy, but according to the lawsuit, which was filed in Tennessee, she’s due sometime in May. That puts her at about 6 months pregnant, which – WHEW – you’ve got to really want to do something if you’re doing it at six months pregnant. This would be 37-year-old Sam and 36-year-old Hanna’s first kid. TMZ says it sounds like they have a prenup, as Hannah is asking in her documents that “all parties be awarded their respective separate property.” As for Hannah and that little baby, Hannah has requested primary custody of their child, child support, and alimony. She also got specific with what kind of alimony she wants: transitional, rehabilitative, and future alimony. The date of separation listed was last Friday, which is coincidentally the same day she filed for divorce.

There’s no word on how Hannah found out, or if this was a one-time sleazebag situation, or if Sam has been hunting for pussy in every city his tour bus stops in. But I have a feeling we’ll learn some of the details when Sam inevitably releases an album about all of this. And really, it’s the perfect material for a country album. A pregnant country girl wife kicking her cheating shitbag husband to the curb and yanking as much cash from his bank accounts as possible. Usually, it’s not from the cheating shitbag’s perspective though, so that will be a new one.
