Brian Cox Says His Jaw Dropped Over Brad Pitt’s Beauty On The Set Of “Troy”

Brian Cox recently let it be known that, despite being someone who identifies as straight, the image of Brad Pitt walking onto the set of the 2004 film Troy pretty much got Brian’s mouth damper than the lost city of Atlantis. Brian Cox may be known as a full-time serious actor with a part-time job as an enjoyable hater, but he is also able to give credit where credit is due, and in this case, he’s opening up a whole Visa Platinum card account’s worth of extended credit for early 2000s Brad Pitt. Some might think that peak-hot Brad Pitt is mid-90s Legends of the Fall Brad Pitt. But for Brian Cox, he was absolutely blown away at seeing Brad Pitt as Achilles for Troy.

Brian (who played King Agamemnon) recently broke down some of his career highlights in a video with Vanity Fair, and let’s just say, seeing a ripped Brad Pitt up close and personal is probably a memory that is going to stay with the man for the rest of his life. via Variety:

“It was a great experience, a great cast. I remember at one point being agog at Brad. He’d never been in costumes like that…Brad walked on set and my jaw was down because he was so stunningly beautiful. I’m straight but I thought, ‘Wow, my God! This guy is stunning.’ What chance does one have on the screen against this beautiful, beautiful man?”

I’ll be honest, I’m not totally used to Brian Cox gushing so hard over someone. Who knew that the kryptonite to Brian Cox’s crustiness was Brad Pitt in a leather mini skirt and knee-high boots. The Earth might have shifted off its axis with Brian delivering so many compliments to Brad Pitt. Someone tell Brian Cox about Shania Twain’s song, “That Don’t Impress Me Much.” He’ll be back to his old self in no time. “How in the world is this woman not impressed in the least that the man standing before her is Brad Pitt? Does she need an appointment with a licensed optometrist?! Impossible. Outrageous.
