Nelly Caught Some Heat For Saying Madonna Needs To Cover Up

February 1, 2022 / Posted by:

Singularly-named rapper Nelly decided recently that it was his right – nay, duty – to comment on a recent Instagram picture posted by the eponymous queen of pop Madonna. But as Nelly discovered, he gained a sudden burst of relevancy in 2022 for all the wrong reasons. People didn’t take too kindly to Nelly suddenly pulling some pearl-clutching judgment on Madonna.

Madonna is nothing if not a fan of reinvention, and I guess you could say her latest persona or aesthetic is “Wealthy MILF who loves to put it out there on Instagram.” We’ve seen Madonna’s titties, nipples, and ass. “Yes, and?” said anyone who lived through the 90s and had access to Madonna’s Sex book. And much like 50 Cent before him, Nelly did not like what he has seen from Madonna as of late. A few days ago, Madonna posted a series of pictures of herself wearing her standard uniform (fishnet tights, biker leather, an excessive amount of beauty filters). And one picture in particular featured Madonna’s ass prominently on display.

Nelly, an alleged sexual predator is in no position to be passing moral judgement, could have kept his opinions to himself and minded his own business, but he did not. Nelly decided to pop into the comments with a little sermon on modesty for Madonna. via Page Six:

The “Lil Bit” rapper, 47, wrote, “Some things should be covered up,” when he jumped into the comments section of the singer’s post last week.

Some things should be covered up? Like what, your mouth when you tried to harmonize with Tim McGraw on “Over and Over“? Because I agree. But I believe Nelly is referring to Madonna’s ass, in this case. Page Six notes that almost immediately, the comments section turned into a fight, with some pointing out to Nelly that no one asked what he thought, that Nelly wouldn’t ever say “that shit” to Madonna’s face, and that if Nelly did try to talk shit to Madonna in person, she’d likely have him removed by her bodyguards, which she can afford.

Of course, Nelly’s comments are all the more ironic, considering his biggest hit is one in which he sings about encouraging women to take off all their clothes after realizing how hot it has become inside a party he’s attending. But this kind of uptight judgment is only going to backfire on Nelly. You think Madonna is now going to start covering up? Please. Madonna thrives when she’s shocking the prudes. Madonna is going to show up in an Instagram picture where wearing nothing but those little tiny bandages that Nelly used to wear on his face, with a comment that reads: “Is this covered up enough?
