Madonna Wants To Go On Tour With Britney Spears And Recreate Their 2003 MTV VMAs Kiss
Madonna clearly didn’t get the attention she was craving at that horribly uncomfortable gathering with Kanye West, Julia Fox, and Floyd Mayweather Jr., because now she’s bringing Britney Spears into things. During an Instagram Live, Madonna–a big supporter of the #FreeBritney movement–snatched at some attention by suggesting a stadium tour with Britney which will surely never happen.
Britney hasn’t performed since 2018 and seems to have so much pent-up energy from spinning around her mansion on Instagram while celebrating her newfound freedom, so she may be ready for a tour (although, she has hinted that she might be done with performing). But if Britney ever wants to tour again, then Madonna let it be known that she’s up for a co-tour. via Variety:
When asked if she will ever do a world tour again, Madonna responded, “Hell yeah. I have to. Stadium baby. Me and Britney, what about that?”
“Not sure if she’d be into it, but it would be really cool. We could like, reenact the original [kiss],” Madonna continued, referencing her and Britney’s famous smooch at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards.

Oh yeah, a surprise lady-on-lady kiss will be just as edgy as it was twenty years ago. Madonna also says in her live stream that she’s working on new music and again praised Licorice Pizza by shouting out the director, Paul Thomas Anderson:
During the live stream, Madonna also teased new music on the way, saying she is recording with other artists, but that it’s a “secret.”
“Oh my god I’m so dying to make new music, you can’t even imagine!” the singer exclaimed. “I feel like I’ve been deprived of air.”
Madonna also discussed the film she is currently writing about her life, which she has labeled a “visual autobiography.” She also praised Licorice Pizza helmer Paul Thomas Anderson (“that director is so good”) and answered fans’ questions such as “How many women have you slept with?” (Answer: “a handful.”)
I love that she managed to sneak in a quick “deprived of air” line when she previously talked about “breathing in that COVID-19 air”–like, pick a lane.
If Britney takes Madonna up on that offer (she won’t) and this tour actually happens (it won’t), then she’ll have to add a few more shots of espresso in her pre-show Frapp. Because Brit has said that she goes to bed around midnight, and if you ask the pissed-off audience members at Madge’s last tour, midnight is when Madonna is just getting started!
