Julia Fox Gave Herself And Kanye West A Couple’s Portmanteau And Talked To Vogue About Her Fashion Evolution

The cheek, the nerve, the gall, the audacity, and the gumption! Julia Fox has gone ahead and given herself and Kanye West a couple’s nickname, clearly overstepping the bounds of the social contract between notable personality (to use the term celebrity would be a streeeeetch here) and the community taking note. Julia, still aglow with the excitement of running around Paris in broad daylight looking like an evacuee flushed from a subterranean fetish club after a gas leak, posted her first contractually permitted photo of her and Kanye on Instagram (Stories only, as per section 2.9, b., ii) with the caption “Juliye” coupled with a single black heart emoji. That was OUR couple’s name to give! Now we’re going to have to come up with something else because I will not give her the satisfaction. So enjoy your doomed relationship, Foxnfriend! I hope it was worth it.

I’m of two minds with this development. I find it hard to believe that Kanye wouldn’t insist on having the final cut of their couple name, but I find it even harder to believe that he’d let her go first. He’s not falling for that again! So it’s curious. In a new interview with Vogue, Julia gushed about how being introduced to the world of haute couture has expanded her horizons and pushed her out of her comfort zone. And not once did she mention Kanye in what is essentially an advertorial for her “glam squad of stylists,” hand-selected no doubt by her SvangaliYe (see, I’m actually good at this, look what she made me do!). Here’s Julia attempting to assert some agency over her recent style transformation. via Vogue:

“I feel like the whole trip has been a highlight, to be honest,” Fox shared from Paris. “Creating a custom Schiaparelli look, having dinner at Rick Owens and Michèle Lamy’s home, and the Schiaparelli show which had me levitating into another future dimension.”

Fox and her glam squad of stylists Peri Rosenzweig and Briana Andalore, makeup artist Daniel Kolarick got ready for Schiaparelli at Chateau Voltaire. The team has collaborated with Fox on her most recent looks, and she credits their expertise with broadening her horizons. The outfits they’ve created—Schiaparelli Canadian tuxedos, Matrix-y black leather crop tops, and striking Sies Marjan vintage coats—have felt like a breath of fresh air. “I’ve been pushed out of my comfort zone in terms of how I dress,” says Fox. “I’m so happy someone finally succeeded because I’ve had so many stylists try to guide me, but I’m so stubborn.”

Here’s a look at Julia 2-months BY (Before Ye) had her run down to the beach in Miami to be photographed wearing leather pants that fateful New Years Day.

Contrast that with her most recent AY look in Paris.

Julie says she felt a “deep connection” with the Schiaparelli outfit she wore to the Schiaparelli Haute Couture SS22 show on Monday noting “every single part of my outfit was intentional and had a purpose,” presumably right down to each individual toe sarcophagus.

They Kanye curated my outfit to fit not just my body, but also my his personality and my his essence.”

Edit’s mine, she deserves it for not allowing Foxnfriend to originate as organically as their relationship. Here’s a closer look at that fit.

Julia also told Vogue something she would never tell Kanye to his face. Her own opinion!

“Where do I even begin!? I loved the pieces that looked like Saturn. I loved the black dress that went into the hat,” says Fox. “Some of the pieces reminded me of The Jetsons meets Breakfast at Tiffany’s, [and] I love the gold embellishments on the gloves.”

“2022 has been truly a dream,” says Fox. “Sometimes I’m like, how is this even my life? Like what glitch in The Matrix caused this? Either way, I’m living, I’m happy, and I’m excited for the future!”

Girl, please don’t ever reference Tiffany again or we’re going to get another awkward interaction when Kanye tries to get a double date with Beyoncé and Jay Z. It’s never going to happen, OK?
