If you watch The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, you know what a glorious dumpster fire this season has been. The cast is so, so messy, even by Bravo’s standards. Grandpa-marrying Mary Cosby is a cult leader. Jen Shah is probably gonna go to prison for scamming the elderly. But, somehow, neither of those cast members are the most problematic. Nope, that title goes to Jennie Nguyen, who has been fired one week after fans discovered her racist Facebook posts.
44-year-old Jennie, who was added to the cast for the second season (which is still airing), posted all this racist, anti-Black Lives Matter crap waaaay back in 2020:

When the posts came to light, Bravo fans were furious and demanded that Jennie be fired. Last Wednesday, Jennie posted an “apology” to her Instagram, explaining that, at the time, she believed she was “speaking out against violence”:
Meanwhile, the other Salt Lake City cast members scrambled to post their own statements. Most of the women were criticized for being too vague (apart from Jen Shah), and the blame was laid on Bravo. The network allegedly told cast members to keep quiet, possibly because they wanted to address the controversy on the show, which just started shooting its third season. Ugh, PLEASE, no more storylines spotlighting racists!
Andy Cohen and cast member Lisa Barlow casually mentioned Jennie’s racism on Sunday night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live, and fans were pissed that they glazed over the subject. The following morning (yesterday) Andy went on his SiriusXM radio show and shared that he was aware that people were upset about Bravo’s silence and Jennie’s “disgusting and upsetting” Facebook posts. He added that there were “many serious discussions happening right now about EVERYTHING,” but he couldn’t address the situation at that moment.
Bravo officially remained quiet until today, when they released a statement announcing they were firing Jennie. They also kinda-sorta admitted that they shoulda fired her the moment the posts were brought to their attention:

So now Jennie and Mary aren’t on the third season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City (Mary didn’t show up to film the second season reunion, so she essentially quit). That leaves Lisa, Meredith Marks, Whitney Rose, Heather Gay, and Jen Shah, who maaay not be on the show much longer. Cuz, you know, she’s facing thirty years in prison for fraud. So if you know of any hot messes in Salt Lake City who aren’t publicly racist/cult leaders/headed to the clink, DM Andy Cohen ASAP.
