Amy Schumer Says She Feels Better After Getting Endometriosis Surgery And Liposuction

Amy Schumer’s had a tough time with her health the last few years. She was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum (constant nausea and puking) while she was pregnant with her 2-year-old son, Gene. At the end of 2019, she tried getting pregnant with a second child via IVF but wasn’t successful. Then, last September, Amy got her uterus and appendix removed due to her very painful battle with endometriosis. Today, 40-year-old Amy took to Instagram to post a picture of herself in a bathing suit, and in the caption, she shared that she’s finally feeling good after recovering from her surgery… actually, make that surgeries. Amy reveals that she went under the knife for her endometriosis and she got liposuction.

In the caption, Amy writes that she never thought she’d get lipo, but she turned 40 and her uterus was fucked:

She posted the same photos to her Instagram Stories, captioning the first one “40” (her age), and the second one “170 pounds” (her weight post-surgeries).

Last month Amy revealed that she got fillers, but hated them and went to a different doctor to get them dissolved. The second doctor, Dr. Jodi LoGerfo, reposted Amy’s pic to her page and wrote, “that where the filler was placed, was not ideal, so we dissolved it.” But did she fill those babies back up with more ideally placed filler? We may never know.

Back in 2014, Amy told Cosmopolitan that she didn’t judge anyone for getting plastic surgery, but she didn’t think the “never enough” mindset in the beauty industry was good for people. That same year she told TIME:

“I’m 32, and I’ve made a promise to myself to not get plastic surgery. And I don’t think that it’s wrong, I don’t think it’s stupid, I’m just really scared of the needle and stuff. And I just think things can go so wrong.”

She added:

“I’m lucky because I grew up pretty delusional about how attractive I was. I was blessed with parents who filled my head with lies.”

So Amy broke her promise to herself. But, to be fair, she made that vow 8 years ago. When I was in my late twenties I was appalled when my dermatologist casually mentioned I should try getting Botox to prevent my bitch-wrinkle from getting worse (the one between my eyebrows). Cut to five years later, and I’ve invested in those special anti-wrinkle stickers. The ones Joan Crawford used! And they don’t even work! Who knows what I’ll do when I hit 40…
