Jamie Lynn Spears Has No Idea Why Britney Spears Might Be Mad At Her

January 12, 2022 / Posted by:

Last year, we learned that Jamie Lynn Spears – younger sister of Britney Spears – had decided to write a memoir. It was pretty much a mess from day one. A whole lot of people thought she was attempting to exploit the attention her sister was receiving during her conservatorship battle, especially since the alleged original title of her tell-all was an iconic Britney lyric. A more self-aware person might have realized that pushing a tell-all on the heel’s of Britney’s situation might be just a tad tacky, but self-awareness doesn’t appear to be the Spears’ family strong suit. So Jamie Lynn’s out there trying to sell that book, and she recently made a stop at Good Morning America, where tears welled up in the corners of her eyes as she wondered why her big sis could ever be mad at her??

Jamie Lynn’s memoir, Things I Should Have Said, is set to be released on January 18, and Britney fans are probably wondering if one of the things Jamie Lynn should have said was: “Hey Mom and Dad, maybe don’t treat Britney like an open bank account while you keep her prisoner?“. Because Jamie Lynn has long been the subject of speculation that she was an active participant in Britney’s conservatorship, like being named the trustee of Britney’s fortune two years ago. This was backed up by Britney Spears herself, when Britney hopped on social media and called out her sister for being on Team Conservatorship. Britney has accused Jamie Lynn of hurting her “deeply” as she was posing as a member of her support system, and for keeping her mouth shut when she could have spoken up and advocated for Britney. Britney Spears was finally freed from her conservatorship in November, after nearly 13 years.

You could say that Britney has laid out her complaints regarding her sister in a fairly clear and concise way. But Jamie Lynn is positively baffled at how her relationship with her older sister got to this place. via TMZ:

Jamie Lynn Spears says she has always loved her sister, Britney, and can’t understand how that relationship deteriorated. Jamie Lynn said she’s happy the conservatorship ended, but bobbed and weaved when it came to how she felt about the conservatorship during the 13 years it was in place.

She said when the conservatorship was first put in place she didn’t understand it and was dealing with other issues … specifically, she was 17 and having a baby.

She said she understands as little about the conservatorship now as she did when it fired up … which is odd since the saga lasted so long. She says she took no part in the conservatorship during its entire run. Jamie Lynn got tearful when she was asked how their relationship crashed and burned, saying she still loves her sister.

Jamie Lynn could have been replaced by that confused, shoulder-shrugging emoji, because she just doesn’t understand why she’s on Britney’s shit list.

Especially since, according to Jamie Lynn, she did everything she could to help Britney. Move over, #FreeBritney freedom fighters, it’s Jamie Lynn who truly deserves the medal of honor here. via Page Six:

“I’ve always been my sister’s biggest supporter, so when she needed help, I set up ways to do so. I went out of my way to make sure that she had the contacts she needed to possibly go ahead and end this conservatorship and just end this all for our family,” she continued. “If it’s going to cause this much discord, why continue it?”

Hmmm, I could be way off base here. But if you know something is wrong, and you’re doing everything possible to rally your “contacts,” do you really just sigh and go “Welp, I tried!” the first time Daddy Spears tells you to quit screwing around on your phone, and hand him the screwdriver so he can change the batteries in Britney’s hidden bedroom microphone. Also, it feels like Jamie Lynn’s efforts maybe could have used just a bit more effort. Because according to Jamie Lynn, she never really thought to crack a book and learn the ABCs of her sister’s conservatorship during those almost 13 years. Oh, and Britney can thank Jamie Lynn for making sure Britney’s boys were a-ok through all of this because that was allegedly Jamie Lynn’s only job in the conservatorship. via ABC News:

“I was happy. I was,” Jamie Lynn said when asked how she felt after the conservatorship was dissolved. “When it was put into place I was 17 years old. I was about to have a baby, so I didn’t understand what was happening. Nor was I focused on that. I was focused on the fact that I was a 17-year-old about to have a baby. I understand just as little about it then as I do now.

There was a time where my sister asked me if I would be the person who would assure that her boys got what they needed. Whether she was in a conservatorship or not, that was a very normal thing.”

Not to mention that it feels a little like Jamie Lynn is still pushing the narrative around her sister that was presented by the media so many years ago. via ABC News:

Jamie Lynn wrote in her book, she saw Britney’s behavior change, using the words “erratic,” “paranoid” and “spiraling” in the pages to describe her sister. As for Britney’s mental state now, she said she “can’t really speak to anyone else’s state of mind.”

“I don’t think that’s fair,” she said. “But I’m allowed to say how I felt in those [moments], because that matters. It matters that I was in pain.”

So what we’re getting from this is that Jamie Lynn doesn’t know why her sister is mad, isn’t sure what was going on with Britney during the conservatorship, and can’t understand why Britney would keep dragging Jamie Lynn, despite Jamie Lynn’s tireless efforts to do right by her sister. This is made all the more ironic when you remember that Britney has been the opposite of quiet when it comes to letting everyone know where she stands and how she feels. For example, right after Good Morning America released the promo for their interview with Jamie Lynn wondering why why WHY, Britney posted this rebuttal:

Don’t worry, Jamie Lynn! I’m sure all your questions will be answered very shortly. Although maybe Jamie Lynn might also want to prepare a bunker for that day, because something tells me Britney is about to drop a nuclear bomb with that little vintage typewriter.
