Miley Cyrus Is Dating Drummer Maxx Morando Of The Band Liily
There’s a new obscure indie band we have to know about for a few months while Miley Cyrus dates their drummer. According to E! News, Miley’s got a new man in her life, 23-year-old Maxx Morando, who is the drummer for the band Liily. It’s quite a departure from her last boyfriend, Australia’s #1 Billy Idol impersonator Cody Simpson. Liily is the real deal. I guess? They’re an alternative rock band out of Los Angeles and judging from their Instagram, it shouldn’t be long now before Miley and Maxx are doing Oasis cosplay together with Miley channeling both Noel and Liam Gallagher, and Maxx playing whoever their drummer was.
Miley’s last relationship, that we know of, ended the first summer of the pandemic when she and Cody broke up after their 8-month stunting contract expired. Previous to that relationship, Miley was with Kaitlynn Carter, a recent escapee from the Kardashian-Jenner clan (Kaitlynn was married to Brody Jenner for about a year). Prior to whatever that was all about (duh, any minor worth their salt knows, there’s ratings gold in them thar The Hills), Miley was married to Liam Hemsworth. Good thing Miley (presumably) avoided falling onto Pete Davidson’s dick during their New Years’ Eve special, because according to E!, Maxx was there as her date.

A source exclusively tells E! News that she is dating Liily drummer Maxx Morando. “She’s happily dating Maxx,” the insider shares. “It’s official between them.”
Maxx, 23, and Miley, 29, have been hanging out a lot and have mutual friends, a second source tells E! News. “They are both artistic and creative, so they bond over being musicians,” per the insider.
In fact, he was in Miami to support the superstar while she hosted Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party for NBC.
“He was backstage with Miley and Pete at the New Year’s Eve rehearsals and taping having a good time with them,” the second source says, adding, “They were are all super friendly with one another and seemed to have a great night.”
Fans first speculated that Miley and Maxx were together after they were spotted looking cozy at Gucci’s Love Parade runway show, which took place on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood in November.

We don’t know exactly how Miley and Maxx met, but E! points to an interview with Vogue from September where Miley “shared insight into a custom design that Maxx and designer Shane Kastl created, which featured a wildly vibrant print of cartoon monsters by her now-boyfriend.” So right from the jump, this has been a lucrative union for Maxx. And to think his high school math teacher said his creepy doodles wouldn’t get him very far as a rock star.
While neither Maxx, Miley, nor Maxx’s superfluous “x” have officially confirmed their relationship, it’s pretty obvious that congratulations are in order. So three cheers to Liily! Their drummer dating Miley Cyrus, no matter how briefly, is a publicist’s dream come true. I mean, how else are they supposed to unload all these ugly ass t-shirts?
