The Swan Savior of Berlin!

Swans may be dangerous beauties who won’t hesitate to jump you like a drunk mess at a bar who doesn’t appreciate you looking at their boyfriend too long, but one woman in Berlin was not scared. She must be the President of the Berlin chapter of The Not The One Club. Because when a swan found itself in trouble, she helped a ho out as everyone stood around and wondered what to do. Leave it to a memaw to get shit done.

Marcy Mendelson, a documentary filmmaker, said on Instagram and Twitter that she was taking a break from working on her movie about wildlife in Namibia when a swan got stuck on Admiralbrücke bridge and didn’t know how to get back to the water. As people stood around, not knowing what to do, the woman, who was selling newspapers by the bridge, got up and risked getting shanked by that swan’s beak when she picked the bird up and threw ’em into the water. She saved the damn day!

A dramatic rescue! The elderly lady who only appears in inclement weather to sit by the bridge & sell newspapers emerged from her little stool & saved an adolescent swan from its predicament. The swan had miscalculated it’s landing & found itself trapped on #admiralbrücke unable to figure out how to return to the water. As onlookers gathered, confused & worried, the lady got up and just did what had to be done. Swans are dangerous birds & can seriously injure people but this fearless lady took no shit.

I know that swans are a volatile mess but I’m hoping that the swan was so grateful that they gathered their swan friends and relatives together and they bought all of her newspapers and gave her a huge tip. Listen, that’s what happened in the Pixar movie in my mind.
