Chris Noth Has Been Accused Of Sexual Assault By Two Women

And just like that…we’ve officially moved on from talking about **SPOILER ALERT** that moment. Because two women have spoken to The Hollywood Reporter, with allegations they were raped by Chris Noth.

The Hollywood Reporter says that the women, who are going by the pseudonyms Zoe (now 40) and Lily (now 31), approached them separately and at different times (it’s noted by THR that neither women know each other). Both women say that watching the promotional tour for HBO’s And Just Like That… and seeing all the press for the show was triggering enough to dig up some painful memories from the past that they couldn’t ignore.

According to allegations made by Zoe, her alleged incident happened with Chris Noth in Los Angeles in 2004, when she was 22 and working at a high-profile firm where Chris Noth often did business. She claims he would often walk by her desk and eventually got access to her work phone number. Zoe’s former boss spoke to THR and said that they heard some of the voicemail messages left for Zoe, and thought it was maybe a little weird that a then-49-year-old Chris Noth was contacting a mid-20s employee, but they didn’t think much, because it was peak-SATC and that he “was like a god to us.” Eventually, Chris Noth invited her and a friend to the pool at his Hollywood apartment, and he excused himself to take a phone call. He asked Zoe to take a look at a book he was reading for a possible film project and asked her to bring it up to his apartment. She did, and that’s when Zoe claims he moved her towards a bed, positioned her in front of a mirror, and sexually assaulted her front behind. Zoe says she remembers verbally telling him to stop, and that when he didn’t, she asked him if he “could at least wear a condom,” to which she claims he laughed at her request.

Zoe returned to a friend’s apartment (which was located in the same building), acting visibly shaken up, and so her friend took her to the hospital. Zoe says she required stitches and authorities pressed her for the name of the person who assaulted her, but she said nothing because she knew no one would believe it was Chris Noth.

Lily claims she met Chris Noth in 2015 while working as a VIP server at a New York City nightclub. She says she knew he was married when he started hitting on her, but she was “flattered” because she was a huge fan of Law & Order and SATC. She was also in her mid-20s at the time, and Chris Noth reportedly asked her out to dinner. When she arrived for the time he’d set for dinner, she discovered the kitchen was closed, so they had wine at the bar until the bar closed. He allegedly asked her to go back to his apartment for more drinks, and Lily claims she was naive and honestly thought the two were going to drink and talk, so she went. She says he pulled down his pants and sexually assaulted her. When she mentioned that he was married with a kid (he’s been married to Tara Wilson since 2012), he told her “monogamy is not real” and forced her to have sex with him in front of a mirror. Lily says she was crying through the assault. The next day, Chris Noth left a message on her phone, making sure she “didn’t take anything the wrong way” from the night before. Lily says she refused to call the police because she had convinced herself she was “overreacting.

The Hollywood Reporter reached out to Chris Noth for comment on the allegations, and naturally, he’s denying that anything non-consensual. He’s also sort-of implying that Zoe and Lily are capitalizing on the buzz from And Just Like That…

“The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago – no always means no – that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual. It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.”

That official denial from Chris Noth might work with some people. Others, well…probably not so much. It’s probably not too much of a stretch to assume that at least one person read those allegations and firmly decided they wouldn’t call 9-1-1 for him either.
