Leonardo DiCaprio Objected To Meryl Streep Doing A Nude Scene In “Don’t Look Up”

Irmelin Indenbirken, Leonardo DiCaprio’s mom, was born in 1945 which means she was about 31 years old when Leo was born. So it’s no wonder Leo was reportedly skeeved out by the thought of his Don’t Look Up costar Meryl Streep naked. His mom’s is probably the oldest pussy he’s ever seen! And that was only from the inside. According to Us Weekly, while Meryl was perfectly OK with doing a nude scene and wearing a tramp stamp for her role as the fictional President of the United States, Leo “didn’t like seeing her with the lower back tattoo, walking for a second naked.” Apparently, he respects her, and the office, too much.
In the trailer, we saw that Meryl’s President Orlean was rocking a Baby Jane wig. So I knew she was going to be acting wild in this movie, but I had no idea she was going to be tattoos and asscheeks wild. According to Us, by way of Adam McKay, it was all too much for Leo’s delicate sensibilities.
A difference of opinion. Meryl Streep may have been all for her character on Don’t Look Up appearing naked on screen, but director Adam McKay revealed that Leonardo DiCaprio wasn’t as onboard with the idea.
“[Meryl] is fearless. And yes, that is a body double. But you know who had a problem with it? Leo,” McKay, 53, admitted during an interview with The Guardian on Sunday, December 12.
In the Netflix film, Streep, 72, portrays President Janie Orlean, and is shown naked from behind. For DiCaprio, 47, that moment didn’t match up with how he thought the Oscar winner deserved to appear on screen.
“Leo just views Meryl as film royalty, although maybe royalty is not a compliment, but as such a special figure in the history of film. He didn’t like seeing her with the lower back tattoo, walking for a second naked,” McKay noted. “He said something to me, like, ‘Do you really need to show that?’ And I was, like, ‘It’s President Orlean, it’s not Meryl Streep.’ But she didn’t even blink. She didn’t even bring it up.’”
Who knew the Founding Father of the Pussy Posse was such a prude! Ageist, no doubt, but a prude? Makes you really think, what would Nancy Regan think, pretend prude to pretend prude, of Leonardo’s proclivity for dating young models. Well, I found out! According to The New York Times:
Apparently, fixing up attractive bachelors with suitable wives was one of her hobbies. She was particularly fond of Leonardo DiCaprio and didn’t approve of him dating models. “She felt he was a wonderful man and deserved a loving, devoted wife,” the friend explained.
So, nosy and a prude. Well, she and Leo apparently have that in common. If it makes him feel any better, Meryl’s performance was SNUBBED by the Golden Globes this year whereas he, Jennifer Lawrence, and Adam all got nominations. So maybe he’s got a point. Maybe sending those postcards to the HFPA that were just a picture of her naked ass with the words For Your Consideration stamped across it, was a mistake. Or was it? Meryl’s got a milliondy of them already. And unlike her, they are not aging well.
