Selena Gomez Snaps At A Commenter Who Thinks She Shouldn’t Drink Alcohol After Getting A Kidney Transplant

December 2, 2021 / Posted by:

29-year-old Selena Gomez got a kidney transplant from friend, Francia Raisa, back in 2017 as part of her long-term battle with Lupus, and for some reason, people loved to joke about it. It’s been some time since her surgery and she’s fully recovered, but that didn’t stop one troll in her TikTok comments section from telling her how much alcohol she’s medically allowed to drink. How about you save that energy for Andy Dick because I think Selena’s doing all right in comparison.

From CBS’ The Good Fight to Peacock’s Saved by the Bell remake, Selena’s organs are apparently hilarious enough to crack jokes about. Selena didn’t love those jokes, but her comedy seems to be more alcohol-related as People says that Selena joked about boozing it up on TikTok. In a duet video from Dr. Dawn Bantel, an Arizona-based naturopathic doctor, Dawn explains the meaning of being a “heavy” drinker.

“The [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] defines heavy drinking as 15 or more drinks a week for men and eight or more drinks per week for women.”

Selena seems shocked by this, biting her nails and mouthing: “Oh…” Same, Selena… same.

She says in the caption “it’s a joke” but you think people on the Internet read things? LOL, videos only! Someone wrote to Selena saying: “So one of your best friends gives you her kidney and you continue to drink excessively. Damn selena.” But Selena isn’t here for your policing of her happy-hour habits and told that fan what’s what:

“It was a joke ass.”

I don’t think we need to be harassing Selena for her booze intake just yet. When she’s slurring on Instagram live or magically boozing it up through her mask, then maybe she could get a talking to. But honestly, give her a break. Imagine having Justin Bieber as an ex-boyfriend?! Enough said.
