Ghislaine Maxwell’s Sex Trafficking Trial Starts Today

Unlike her partner in predatory horrificness Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell has survived jail so far. And the Associated Press reports that today is the day and that a jury will begin hearing evidence and arguments about whether or not Ghislaine was just an idiot pawn of the perverted monster from Hell, or if she fully knew and helped him recruit underage girls to have sex with his friends. The delusional ghoul must be nervous. Probably the only person who’s more nervous than her is fellow Epstein bestie and accused-child-fucker Prince Andrew who must be waiting to see if he gets name-dropped. Two places you never want a name-drop: A diss track and a sex-crimes trial.

Ghislaine has been in jail since last year after she was charged with sex trafficking conspiracy, sex trafficking of a minor, one count of transportation of a minor with intent to engage in illegal sex acts, one count of enticement of a minor to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, and two other conspiracy charges. The charges are from allegations of four different women who claimed that Jeffrey and Ghislaine victimized them as teens between 1994 and 2004. One of the alleged victims, Sarah Ransome, told BBC‘s Panorama that Ghislaine was one of the main people involved, and said: “Ghislaine controlled the girls. She was like the madam. She was like the nuts and bolts of the sex trafficking operation.” But since her arrest, Ghislaine has denied the accusations and pleaded not guilty, calling the allegations “absolute rubbish.” Her legal team has also decried her prison conditions, but no one cares.

Twelve jurors and six alternates will hear opening statements today in a New York City courtroom after being picked from a pool of 40 to 60 potentials. Prosecutors claimed to have evidence that Ghislaine knew the victims (including a 14-year-old) were underage and that she still arranged travel for them to meet Jeffrey at his homes and other residences. Prosecutors plan on showing evidence and the defense plan on trying to attack the credibility of the witnesses and suggest they have a financial motive to come forward. Tough call on who to believe.

There won’t be a live stream of the trial, because cameras are not allowed in the federal court where Ghislaine’s being tried. But there’s plenty of dramatics outside of the courthouse, like this guy ranting about Chrissy Teigen‘s “Satanic” tweets and her supposed involvement in this.

Well, I’ll tell you one thing, the Ghislaine Maxwell trial is going to do wonders for the hand-held megaphone industry. Lots of crazy people with things they want to be heard real loudly!
