Open Post: Hosted By Midas, The Kitten With Four Ears

November 28, 2021 / Posted by:

I hope you have your eyes and ears open for this story because it is worth all your attention! Meet Midas, a rescue kitten from Ankara, Turkey who was born with a mutation that’s given her FOUR ears. (I know a few people who could use four ears and less mouth!) After going viral on social media, Midas found her forever home with her new human Canis Dosemeci.

Thanks to a recessive gene mutation likely from her parents, Midas sports an additional set of ears that don’t hinder her hearing abilities (but do make people think twice before being shady behind her back!). They’re just part of Midas’s day-to-day life as an energetic kitten and social media star. As told by Laughing Squid:

While Midas’ look is rare, it does not seem to affect her daily life in any way. According to her human, Canis Dosemeci, Midas is a very playful kitten.

Our Midas is very playful cat. She likes to cuddle and sit on my lap and sleep on my lap. She gets along with the dog …Yeah we’re a big family. We have never thought of buying a cat, we just wanted to rescue a cat from the street and we wanted to adopt her.

Canis has expressed that she hopes her adoption of Midas encourages others to take a chance on pets who aren’t perfect and don’t look 100% normal. (Uh, how did Canis find out the pickup line I used when I was single??) If the ears weren’t enough of a reason to adopt Midas, she also has a heart shape on her tummy!

You can check out the plucky kitten’s whole story here:

Hopefully, Midas is happy in her new home and is spared Kid Rock’s new song. I can’t imagine the pain of hearing that with four ears!
