Princess Charlene Is Currently In A Treatment Facility And Prince Albert Says That Nothing Suspicious Is Going On

After a long six-month absence from her kids and husband, Prince Albert, Princess Charlene finally returned to Monaco from an extended stay in South Africa earlier this month. And before Charlene could unpack her bags or recoil at the thought of kissing her husband hello, she was right back out again. Charlene returned home on November 8th, and she was supposed to appear at Monaco’s National Day festivities today, but she pulled out three days before, citing health issues. Now Prince Albert is confirming that Princess Charlene is currently in a treatment facility to deal with exhaustion, and nothing more than that, okay? She doesn’t secretly have COVID or is trying to get away from her husband (to be fair, no one would accuse that last one of being much of a secret).

Princess Charlene had been in her home country of South Africa since May 2021, after going to do some conservation work and subsequently experiencing a medical issue. She claimed that before she left for South Africa, she had a bone graft and a sinus lift and that while she was in South Africa she got an ENT infection, which required medical attention. The details are a little murky, but the semi-official word was that Princess Charlene had contracted amystery illness” that forced her to get a number of “corrective surgeries,” and kept her away from Monaco for more than six months. Her grand return home to Prince Albert and her 6-year-old twins, Jacques and Gabriella, looked like this:

When she announced she wouldn’t be attending Monaco’s National Day, the official reason was “profound general fatigue.” People magazine spoke to Prince Albert, and he confirms that it was decided between himself, Charlene, and her brothers, that she seek treatment in a facility outside of Monaco for her exhaustion issues. via People:

The decision to seek medical care just days after her return to Monaco was made jointly by the couple, assisted by Charlene’s brothers. In an exclusive interview, Monaco’s sovereign prince tells People the 43-year-old princess is suffering profound “exhaustion, both emotional and physical.” Dismissing a variety of rumors, he says her recovery will require clinical care lasting several weeks at minimum.

According to Albert, Charlene seemed alright when she returned home, but it wasn’t long before it was clear she wasn’t doing well. Again, I feel like Albert might have that effect on a person.

Charlene’s return to Monaco 11 days ago after six months in South Africa “went pretty well in the first few hours, and then it became pretty evident that she was unwell,” says Albert. Her current state, he says, is the result of several factors which are private matters.” He adds, “she was clearly exhausted, physically and emotionally. She was overwhelmed and couldn’t face official duties, life in general or even family life.”

Now onto the rumors, of which there are many. Is Charlene the latest of Monaco royalty to get COVID? Is Charlene hiding out after getting the deluxe Real Housewife special? Or is she simply too repulsed by her husband to live in the same country as him? It’s just the exhaustion thing, he swears.

“Because I know there are rumors out there, let me say: This is not COVID. And it’s not cancer-related. It’s not a personal relationship issue. And if you want to discuss another speculation, it isn’t related to plastic surgery or facial work at all…I’m probably going to say this several times, but this has nothing to do with our relationship. I want to make that very clear. These are not problems within our relationship; not with the relationship between a husband and wife. It’s of a different nature.”

There have been endless rumors about how Princess Charlene would love to make like a Looney Tunes character and zip away from her marriage, leaving only a cloud of smoke and Albert holding a sign that says, “That’s all folks.” But I believe Prince Albert when he says that Charlene is out of the country getting help for her exhaustion issues. Of course, she’s exhausted! I’d be tired as shit too if my alleged sleaze of a husband kept getting hit with paternity suits.
