Dominic West’s Son Will Play Prince William To His Prince Charles In Season 5 Of “The Crown”
Senan West won’t have to dig very deep to play the role of young Prince William in the upcoming fifth season of The Crown. He and William have so much in common! Senan also grew up in a castle (Glin Castle, his mother’s ancestral estate in Ireland) and his parent’s marriage is in shambles. His dad, Dominic West, who will play his TV dad, Prince Charles, is also a cheater. And Senan’s mom, Catherine Fitzgerald, like Princess Diana, dealt with that betrayal by putting on a stiff upper lip and pretending everything is fine. The only difference is Senan’s dad is handsome (on a good day) and cheated with a Hollywood starlet whereas Charles is not and cheated with, how do I put this politely, a handsome woman.
According to Deadline, 13-year-old Senan will be playing a slightly older William on The Crown.
The Crown has found its Prince William, very close to home. Senan West, the 13-year-old son of Dominic West, who portrays Prince Charles in the royal drama’s upcoming fifth season, will join his dad in the role of Prince William, Deadline has confirmed.
William, second in the line of succession to the British throne. was just 15 when his mother, Princess Diana, died in a car crash.
We understand that storylines in Season 5 will include Princess Diana’s bombshell BBC Panorama interview, which made headlines after an inquiry revealed the full scale of reporter Martin Bashir’s deceit in securing the scoop.
Normally I’d be calling nepotism on this casting choice but in this case, I have to wonder if it’s retribution. We already know Catherine placed conditions on Dominic after he was caught cheating with his The Pursuit of Love co-star Lily James (who played his daughter, yuk) while on break in Italy last year. One condition was that he never work with her again. Possibly why Lily isn’t going to be playing Duchess Camilla this season (that role will go to Olivia Williams, the teacher from Rushmore). Maybe another condition was that he pull some strings at work. Do you know what the heating bills are like for a castle! Everybody has to pull their weight, even the kids. And besides, it’s only fitting since nobody does nepotism quite like the monarchy!
