The Teaser Trailer For The “Sex And The City” Revival Is Here
A teaser trailer has finally been released for the Sex and the City revival, And Just Like That…. I think the name should be changed to Drawn Out as All Hell because we’ve been hearing about it for a year. HBO dropped the first teaser trailer with actual footage today, and in it, they announced that it’ll premiere on December 9 and that’s when a “new chapter begins.” But well, Carrie is still topping her head with overwrought fashion fuckery, so I can’t help but wonder, is a new chapter really beginning?
As we all know, the SATC revival will star Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis. Kim Cattrall would rather get a bikini wax from a shark than return to the SATC-verse, so she’s not in this. Besides, she’s busy playing Hilary Duff’s future in How I Met Your Father and a boozy socialite in the Queer As Folk reboot. This new 10-episode half-hour series will follow the ladies as they navigate their 50s. Michael Patrick King is back as showrunner, while original creator Darren Star is not involved. Chris Noth, Evan Handler, David Eigenberg, Mario Cantone, Bridget Moynahan, and the late Willie Garson will also be appearing in the series along with new faces like Grey’s Anatomy‘s Sara Ramírez, Sarita Choudhury, and Nicole Ari Parker. Here’s the official first teaser trailer:
Since that trailer had no content beyond telling us a “new chapter begins,” let’s talk about outfits. SJP decided to pull inspiration from terrible business-casual looks with this choice. Where does one find a burnt sienna necktie? She looks like Ronald McDonald’s lawyer.
And unlike the first run of SATC, there are several people of color in this one. So its working title should really be: And Just Like That… Carrie And Co. Discovered That Non-White People Actually Live In New York City!
