John Mulaney Wants To Speed Up His Divorce From Anna Marie Tendler

John Mulaney isn’t just having a baby with his maybe-girlfriend Olivia Munn. No, he’s also getting divorced from his wife of six years, Anna Marie Tendler. That’s what some might call a packed schedule, and John clearly would agree. Because he’s trying to expedite the process of one of those things on his To-Do list. And since a baby kind of has a set schedule when it comes to birth, he’s decided to get that pesky divorce out of the way as soon as possible. This would be why he has repeatedly hired a new lawyer and told them to step on the gas.

Back in May, Anna Marie made the announcement that her husband John didn’t want to be her husband anymore, and after he left rehab, he chose to leave their marriage. John reportedly left rehab after a 60-day stay in February 2021 and then got with Olivia Munn in (insert your preferred date of speculation here). Page Six reports that John is now being represented in his divorce by the New York City law firm Teitler & Teitler. Teitler & Teitler has represented many Goldman Sachs executives, and that they’re known in the law world as being tough, and knowing their way around a complex divorce battle. For example, Teitler & Teitler represented Annette Roque in her divorce from Matt Lauer. John wants them to get shit done ASAP, for obvious reasons. via Page Six:

“John wants to speed things up and get the divorce done,” one source said. β€œHe’s becoming a father, so he switched to a new law firm with a reputation of being tough and efficient.”

That’s not to say Anna Marie is bumbling into court with the Lionel Hutz of the divorce world. She too has obtained tough representation. She’s being represented by family law attorney Eleanor Alter, who represented Mia Farrow in her custody battles against Woody Allen, and has represented Madonna during her messy custody situation with Rocco Ritchie and his dad, Guy Ritchie. So yeah, it seems like both Anna Marie and John are ready to throw on the gloves and go as many rounds as they can before someone rings the bell and announces, “Olivia’s in labor! Indefinite recess while John attends the birth of his child.

They might want to move fast on that divorce because Olivia is due “at the end of this year.” It’s already November, we only have one more month after this until we’ve reached the end of the year! But I think John will successfully be able to tidy this whole divorce up in time, no problem. He just has to make sure not to contest a single thing Anna Marie’s lawyer asks for. Otherwise, he might find this divorce dragging well into the end of this year, which means there might be a chance he’ll be in the delivery room explaining to a nurse: “Yes, I’m the father. Not the husband. I mean, I am technically someone’s husband, legally, but let’s not get into that now.”
