Zayn Malik Pleads No Contest To Harassing Yolanda And Gigi Hadid
Yesterday we learned that Yolanda Hadid, mother of Gigi Hadid and grandma Gigi and Zayn Malik’s 13-month-old daughter Khai, alleged that Zayn “struck” her during a heated argument last week. Zayn released a statement saying that he isn’t the type to air his personal life issues in public and that he hoped things could have stayed between the four walls of his home. Well, things became very public. We now know a whole lot more about that situation between Zayn and Yolanda. We also know that we can start referring to Zayn and Gigi as each other’s exes because they’re reportedly not together anymore
Gigi and Zayn had been together off and on since 2015, and during one of their “on” moments they made a baby girl that was born in September 2020, and that they named Khai. Gigi and Zayn have been all about Khai’s privacy, posting only pictures with Khai’s face hidden or obscured. We can’t be sure of what caused the fight between Zayn and Yolanda, but according to sources who spoke to TMZ, Zayn went full Papa Bear on Yolanda and told her to stay away from his daughter. He also allegedly said some other things to Yolanda that will really only resonate with people who fucking hate their mother, or hate Yolanda Hadid. via TMZ:
According to the docs, obtained by TMZ, Zayn was at Gigi and Zayn’s Pennsylvania home on Sept. 29 and got into a nuclear argument. He allegedly called Yolanda a “fucking Dutch slut,” ordered her to “stay away from [my] fucking daughter.” He said this, although it’s hard to know why, “the fucking sperm that came out of [my] fucking cock.”
He then allegedly “shoved her [Yolanda] into a dresser causing mental anguish and physical pain.” Zayn denies any physical contact.
Zayn claimed in his previous Twitter statement that information regarding this fight had been “leaked” by a person who he would not name by name, but the implication was that we know about this situation because (ahem) the other party ran to the press with it. I’m not saying Yolanda is TMZ’s source, and I’m also not saying that I could picture Yolanda with her phone on speaker, saying, “That’s Dutch slut, with a D.”
Gigi reportedly wasn’t at home at the time. She was in Paris. While Zayn was allegedly fighting with Yolanda, he had Gigi on the phone and was yelling at her to “strap on some fucking balls” and defend him against her mother. Zayn also had words for a security guard, allegedly saying “Get the fuck out of my fucking house.” According to police documents, Zayn also allegedly tried to fight the security guard.
As mentioned above, Zayn reportedly pleaded no contest to one of the charges against him, and TMZ says he was charged with four criminal offenses. He’s on 90 days probation for each count (so, 360 days in total), and he must complete both an anger management class and a domestic violence program. He is to have zero contact with Yolanda or the security guard. He’s pretty much got limited contact with Gigi as well, but that’s not court-mandated. Zayn and Gigi are not together, but they remain civil for the sake of their child. via People magazine:
“They are not together right now. They are both good parents though,” says a Hadid family friend. “They co-parent. Yolanda is of course very protective of Gigi. She wants the best for her daughter and grandchild.”
“Gigi is solely focused on the best for Khai. She asks for privacy during this time,” Gigi’s rep tells People in a statement. Reps for Yolanda and Malik have not responded to multiple requests for comment.
And of course, everyone is now picking sides. Gigi’s siblings Bella Hadid and Anwar Hadid have both unfollowed Zayn on Instagram. This whole situation is messy and sad, but I think the person who is screaming the loudest about this is Andy Cohen. Because he’s crying about YoLo no longer being on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills so he can’t milk this messiness for all it’s worth.
