THE QUEEN Has Been Ordered To Rest For At Least Two Weeks

THE QUEEN hasn’t been feeling so hot lately. Last week the 95-year-old canceled a trip to Northern Ireland on doctor’s orders, and a couple of days later she spent the night in the hospital for “preliminary investigations.” Earlier this week, a royal source let it slip that the monarch won’t be making any public appearances without a senior royal scheduled as a back-up in case she needs to cancel at the last minute. Now the palace has announced that docs ordered the Queen to rest for at least two more weeks and not undertake any official visits. Sounds relaxing. Hmmmm, has it occurred to anyone that maybe Ol’ Lizzie is faking sick and pulling the ol’ “heating up the thermometer on the lightbulb” trick?
Here’s the statement via CNN:
“Her Majesty’s doctors have advised that she should continue to rest for at least the next two weeks. The doctors have advised that Her Majesty can continue to undertake light, desk-based duties during this time, including some virtual audiences, but not to undertake any official visits,” the palace said in its statement Friday. “Her Majesty regrets that this means she will be unable to attend the Festival of Remembrance on Saturday, 13th November. However, it remains The Queen’s firm intention to be present for the National Service of Remembrance on Remembrance Sunday, on 14th November.”
CNN’s royal source says that the Queen “remains in good spirits” and is continuing “light duties.” The source adds that the advice was a “sensible precaution” from medics and that her “diary” was light for next week. However, if the Queen is dealing with stomach issues, the diarrhea could be heavy (I’m so sorry).
The Queen was supposed to show up to the COP26 summit next Monday, but obviously, she had to pull out. Instead, she recorded a video address Friday afternoon (British time… so like, earlier today) that will be played at the event. Ugh. LET! LIZZIE! SLEEP! Isn’t there an in-house drag Queen who can mimic the monarch for these video appearances? Smother the laptop camera in Vaseline and nobody will be the wiser.
