B.J. Novak’s Face Is On Products All Over The World Because Someone Mistakenly Put His Pic On A Public Domain Site

B.J. Novak: star of The Office, ex of Mindy Kaling, and one of the soldiers in Inglourious Basterds. Apparently, he’s got a new anthology series on Hulu too, but that’s not why we’re here. Nope, we’re here because B.J. took to Instagram Stories to reveal that his face is being used to sell products all around the world, including (but likely not limited to): electric shavers, raincoats, face paint, and cologne. B.J. explains that “years ago, someone mistakenly put an image of me on a public domain site,” and he’s “too amused to do anything about it.” Amused? He should be honored. Think about all the people who’d kill to be the face of Swedish perfume. B.J. stumbled ass-backwards into international supermodel fame! The lucky duck didn’t even have to get psychologically tortured by Tyra Banks!

Here are the pictures and B.J.’s explanation:

As many have pointed out, this is similar to a storyline in the seventh season Office episode, “Garage Sale”. B.J.’s character uses Oscar and Phyllis’ faces to sell homemade pesto and salsa:

I wonder if the people who slapped B.J.’s face on their products were aware their model was Office star B.J. Novak. Or maybe they just liked his “white everyman” look. Either way, I’m not sure Ryan Howard’s Britney-esque puppy dog eyes would compel me to buy a rain poncho. His deep, needy stare… it’s too much, man!
