The Queen Spent A Night In The Hospital This Week

A few days ago, it was reported that Queen Elizabeth’s doctors were being a major buzzkill after they told her she had to cancel a little two-day getaway to Northern Ireland. Obviously, I’m not The Queen’s doctor and know absolutely wank-all about her medical situation, but I was still a little miffed that they wouldn’t just let her 95-year-old majesty pop off and sneak in a Guinness or two in Northern Ireland. She’s had a year, let her have this little out-of-town getaway. As it turns out, her doctors weren’t being petty killjoys and they really were looking out for her best interests, health-wise. Because The Queen’s health dipped into the red, and she was forced to spend a night in the hospital on Wednesday.
Buckingham Palace released a short statement on The Queen’s health, saying that she went to the hospital as a precaution and was released the next day. She’s pretty much back to her regular schedule. via People magazine:
In a statement issued on Thursday, the palace said that the 95-year-old monarch “remains in good spirits” following the overnight stay, during which she underwent “preliminary investigations.”
“Following medical advice to rest for a few days, the Queen attended hospital on Wednesday afternoon for some preliminary investigations, returning to Windsor Castle at lunchtime today and remains in good spirits,” the statement read.
The Queen was admitted to the hospital as a cautious approach by her medical team. She was back at her desk on Thursday afternoon, undertaking light duties.
It’s not known what caused doctors to want to admit The Queen, but it reportedly is not COVID-19 related. What a relief, especially for Prince Andrew. He probably heard his only relevant supporter was in the hospital and was thinking about storming into the ER to scream, “Show me where she is! You’re not leaving yet mum, not on my watch! You’ll live forever, for the sake of my future…er, I mean, the country’s future.”
