There’s A Rumor That JoJo Siwa Broke Up With Her Soulmate
Today in “What the Kids Are Talking About,” JoJo Siwa may have split with her girlfriend, Kylie Prew. Oh NoNo, say it ain’t SoSo! Nothing’s been confirmed, but JoJo made a series of comments in interviews and on social media that have fans thinking she’s going through a break up. JoJo officially came out as gay at the beginning of this year (a few months later she clarified that she’s “technically pansexual”), and she introduced Kylie to her fans soon after.
JoJo and Kylie began dating in January but were friends for a year before that. Kylie has referred to JoJo as her “best friend/soulmate/forever person,” but, unfortunately, both of these girls are 18 years old. And calling someone your “soulmate” at 18 is like my weekly declaration that I’ll stop eating cheese at night. You believe it at the moment, but, ultimately, you’re doomed.
Here’s the evidence that JoJo and Kylie may have split. First, JoJo wrote a lengthy, vague Instagram caption about her hectic rehearsal schedule on Dancing with the Stars, where she’s made history as part of the first same-sex dancing partners with Jenna Johnson. Here is some of what she wrote:
“This has been a WEEK. My brain has never been so overwhelmed/overloaded with not only work but also personal life…
This week of my life has taught me SO much. Live in the moment. Smile however you can. Whatever it takes to be happy, do it. My brain is dead, my knees are bruised, and my puppy is cute. That’s what is coming to my mind right now! … Even though this week has been one of the hardest in my life for so many different reasons, it’s also been one of the best.”
There’s also an interview she did with People at the 2021 Women’s Image Awards just last week. She said, via Cosmopolitan:
“I struggle when anything is new, and I went through something that was new and I have never gone through before. It was tough and it is still tough. I cried about it last night and I’m probably gonna cry about it tonight because I’m 18 and I’m missing a piece of me that is the biggest piece of me, and that’s OK.”
At the ceremony, she picked up an award for being a rising music star and said:
“Life has funny twists and funny turns that I have never seen coming and that we all could never see coming, but trust the process.”
According to this insane YouTube video, Kylie hasn’t been in the Dancing with the Stars audience in the last couple of weeks. The always right The Sun is reporting that the couple has split because Kylie was “jealous” of JoJo’s bond with her TV dancing partner, Jenna Johnson. Even though Jenna is almost a decade older than JoJo and married to fellow DWTS dancer, Valentin Chmerkovskiy. The Sun’s sources say:
“They split. Kylie became jealous of the relationship JoJo has fostered with Jenna. JoJo is a mess.”
The insider claimed JoJo’s “busy” schedule also led to the break up. The source continued to allege: “I think JoJo has always been a workhorse, but having a relationship and trying to keep up with a massive star schedule – it’s a challenge.”

JoJo does look really happy in that clip. But I think the smile is less about Jenna and more about the absence of her signature scalp-scraping high pony. Even if that’s a wig, it looks a helluva lot more comfortable than the Nickelodeon Ponytail of Pain®. Look, Ma, no migraines!
