Ruby Rose Alleges All Kinds Of Abuse And Toxic Behavior On The “Batwoman” Set
Well y’all, looks like the worst thingĀ The CW did wasn’t that sinful live-action Powerpuff Girls show. Last year, Ruby Rose left the Batwoman series after one season in a strange moment where she was sort of painted as a major asshole who was hard to work with. Ruby’s character was written out and they were replaced by Javicia Leslie. But Ruby has come out with their side of the story, claiming that she was forced off the show and accused The CW and the show’s showrunner and producers of creating toxic and dangerous work conditions.
Forbes said that Ruby laid it all out there in their Instagram Stories. She’s already trending on Twitter over it, so they clearly got their message across. Starting by naming showrunner Caroline Dries, and producers Sarah Schecter and Greg Berlanti, Ruby said “enough is enough, I’m going to tell the whole world what happened on that set.” Ruby said she wanted to make sure what happened to her “never happens to another person again” and to “take back my life and the truth. Shame on you.”
Ruby came for WB Exec Peter Roth saying he would have women steam his pants while he was still wearing them, and also accused him of hiring a PI to investigate Ruby after they left the show. She also accused him of forcing her back to work 10 days after a serious set injury and telling them that if they didn’t return, the whole cast and crew would be fired.
Ruby described various on-set injuries including one where the crew witnessed the “skin fall off” a man’s face (um, tell us more about THAT mess, Ruby) and said showrunner Caroline Dries didn’t care about anything other than quickly wrapping up the season while COVID was shutting down other series:
Ruby’s Instagram Story also included videos of their doctor explaining her injuries. Forbes reached out to The CW for comment but hadn’t heard back.
When Ruby left Batwoman, a source said that the long hours took a toll on them and they didn’t really like living in Vancouver, where the show is shot. So after Ruby’s claims, I guess the city of Vancouver can temporarily remove their sign that reads: “Welcome To Vancouver To Everyone But That Rude Ass Ruby Rose!”
