Bobby Flay And Food Network Have Parted Ways After 27 Years

There’s some drama cooking as Bobby Flay is going through a breakup and hopefully, it will go as “amicably” as that messy divorce he had with Stephanie March. Stephanie and Bobby had some issues regarding fidelity and she alleged Bobby’s wandering Chef’s Spoon made its way into three women, including our favorite drunk Instagram Live-er: January Jones. But while Bobby and Stephanie were together for ten years, Bobby and Food Network actually had been together much longer, and now their 27-year relationship has gone kaput over… you guessed it… money.

Bobby has shows on the Food Network! As an avid watcher of people cooking food I will never get a chance to eat or properly recreate, I know that ginger BBQ master Bobby Flay is basically to Food Network what Ryan Seacrest is to E! and has been with the network since 1994. Beat Bobby Flay, Brunch at Bobby’s, Grillin’ and Chillin’, Iron Chef America, Worst Cooks in America, The Next Food Network Star–Baby, his IMDB page is STACKED! He was even the first celebrity chef to get on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. But goodbye to those high-earning paychecks because after negotiating with the network it seems that they just were not ready to hand him more cash.

Variety says that Bobby’s most recent exclusive contract expires at the end of this year, and sources say it’s over between Bobby and Food Network.

Flay and Food Network have been in negotiations on a new contract for some time. His most recent exclusive three-year pact with the Discovery-owned cabler expires at year’s end. Sources close to the situation said that Food Network has ended the negotiations.

Flay representatives at WME declined to comment on the situation, citing the policy of not commenting on active negotiations. That’s an indication that Flay’s team sees some hardball negotiating tactics afoot. But sources close to Food Network say the decision has been made to move on as the sides were far apart on financial terms. Food Network declined to comment for this story.

Welp, now that he’s losing his regular paycheck I bet that prices are about to go up at Bobby’s many restaurants! But honestly, it’s long been time for Bobby to move aside as one of the main faces of the Food Network. It’s time for the true ruler of the Food Network to take her throne. Barefoot Contessa, Ina Garten, needs to pour herself a pitcher of Cosmopolitan and ascend!
