The Premiere For “The Wendy Williams Show” Has Been Delayed For A Third Time
The Instagram page for The Wendy Williams Show is filled with post after post of updates updating previous updates about when season 13 will premiere. You know when people at work complain about having to attend meetings that could have just been an email? I actually think the WWS is the rare exception where the wise thing to do would be to take that shit off of Slack and sit down to figure out a fucking long-term plan because Wendy ain’t well. Page Six reports that Wendy Williams won’t be returning to the air on October 4th as previously announced. I know the entire entertainment industry hinges on Wendy’s ability to sit upright in a chair, but the lady’s just not up to it yet.
Last month it was announced that Wendy was unable to perform any promotional activities leading up to the scheduled September 20th premiere of the WWS due to “ongoing health issues.” But a last-minute announcement was made that “while continuing her health evaluations,” Wendy had tested positive for COVID-19 and a new premiere date was set for October 4th. Wendy’s COVID was reportedly asymptomatic but she was briefly hospitalized, voluntarily, for a psych evaluation. Wendy was last seen looking worse for wear leaving the hospital and got busted vaping in her car. I say “busted” because ducked out of the way like a guilty teenager as soon as she saw the camera. And Wendy must have gotten a suspension or something because the WWS just announced she will “not be returning with new shows on October 4th.” Page Six reports:
The decision to postpone the Season 13 premiere of Wendy Williams’ daytime talk show — again — was a last-minute call.
A source exclusively told Page Six Thursday morning that production believes Williams needs more time to focus on her health, so it’s delaying the show until Oct. 18.
“Healing is not a straight-line process,” our source shared. “It was felt within the last 24 hours that we wanted to give her more time to recover.”
According to the insider, the show pushed the premiere back an additional two weeks because it “didn’t want to start the show and then stop.”
“We wanted to make sure Wendy was 100 percent [ready],” the source added.
We’re also told that Williams will “1,000 percent host” when the show returns later in October, despite the vague nature of the announcement that noted the show would return — not necessarily with Williams.
1,000 percent? Does that mean there will be 10 Wendy’s when she comes back? We can barely tolerate the chaos of one Wendy let alone 10! Here’s the show’s latest unreliable Instagram post.
WWS, get your shit together! And let this woman rest. Or make this woman rest if that’s the case. We’re going to need her in fighting shape for when Jamie Spears finally gets his!
