Princess Beatrice Revealed The Name Of Her Daughter, And The Queen Got A Shout Out

About two weeks after she burst into this world and temporarily yanked the spotlight off her granddaddy (a move I’m sure he’ll be forever grateful for), Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s baby daughter’s got a name, which they revealed on social media earlier today, and a fancy Italian royal title, as expected.

Princess Bea, Queen Elizabeth’s eldest granddaughter, and Prince Andrew and Fergie’s first child, gave birth back on September 18th but waited until today to fill everyone in on the name. Bea’s husband is a fancy Italian aristocrat who is eligible to receive a fancy Italian title, so of course, it would not have come as a surprise to anyone if that baby’s birth certificate was filled with a whole bunch of fancy Italian names all ending with an A. Instead, Bea and Edoardo kept it relatively simple and named their first child together Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi.

Wolfie is Edoardo’s son, Christopher Woolf, from his previous relationship with his ex-fiancé Dara Huang. Eduardo posted the same footprint pic to his Instagram account, but added this caption, which sounds like it was ripped off an Inspirational parenting meme page:

Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi. Our life together has just begun, and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things that await us. Feeling so much love and gratitude for my amazing wife, baby Sienna and Wolfie. These are the days I never want to forget. This week, a friend said to me the sweetest saying…that with every child you grow a whole new heart. A massive thank you to the Midwife and the amazing team at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

As People magazine points out, Edoardo’s daddy is a Count, and since Edoardo is his dad’s oldest son, he’ll get to inherit his family’s ancestral seat, the 18th century Villa Mapelli Mozzi Palace in northern Italy. And that’s nice since Bea’s parents aren’t leaving her anything in the housing department. But as such, this baby is allowed to use a formal title, which means she could technically go by Nobile Donna Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi, should she so choose.

The origins of that name are not known, like whether Sienna is a family name, or if Bea is just a huge fan of Sienna Miller. The middle name is obviously a tribute to Bea’s granny, Queen Elizabeth. This is like the ten millionth royal child with a reference to The Queen in their name. Beatrice’s own middle names are Elizabeth Mary. One of Princess Anne’s middle names is Elizabeth, and she gave her daughter a middle name with Elizabeth in it. Prince Edward gave his daughter Elizabeth as one of her middle names. Prince William and Duchess Kate’s daughter is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle went a little different with their tribute by naming their daughter after Elizabeth’s nickname, Lilibet. Princess Beatrice and The Queen are reportedly very close, so it’s not a shock that Bea would name drop her Granny on that birth certificate. But she was kind of obligated to throw Elizabeth in there. Imagine The Queen learning that her favorite granddaughter named her first child something like Sienna McKenzyeigh? Excuse me and beg your pardon? You don’t get to borrow The Queen’s best tiara and most special dress for your wedding day without paying the boss back.
