Cesar Millan Denies He Had Anything To Do With The Death Of Queen Latifah’s Dog

According to a lawsuit that was filed earlier this month, Cesar Millan isn’t just a celebrity dog trainer, he’s also allegedly a four-legged fixer who allegedly covered up a celebrity dog murder. Queen Latifah had hired Cesar Millan to train her two dogs, but one of her dogs ended up dying. The reported cause of death was that her dog got hit by a car, but according to the lawsuit, filed by the daughter of one of Cesar’s former employees, Cesar’s dog was really to blame. But Cesar is denying the accusation that he covered up a dog’s death to protect himself.

The lawsuit was originally filed by a woman named Lidia Matiss, who was suing Cesar for damages allegedly caused by his dog attacking her in his office. Lidia claimed she was a star gymnast who was but a back-handspring away from making it to the Olympics before her dreams were crushed like the tendons and muscle fibers in her leg after Cesar’s dog Junior got a hold of it. Lidia claimed Junior was aggressive and allowed to roam the halls of Cesar’s office building, which is where he allegedly attacked her badly enough in 2017 that she was rushed to the ER with “severe” injuries. To illustrate her point, Lidia claimed that Junior killed Kiwi, a puppy adopted by Queen Latifah, in 2018, and that Cesar covered up the death with a lie about the dog getting hit by a car. Junior died this year at the age of 15.

In a statement from Cesar’s rep, they claim that before filing her lawsuit, Lidia threatened to go to the press if they didn’t pay up. via People magazine:

“This incident occurred over 4 years ago. Two weeks ago, Ms. Matiss’ counsel sent a letter demanding that Mr. Millan pay her $850,000 – or she would be going ‘to the press.’ Mr. Millan refused to respond to this threat, and this interview is the result,” a rep for Millan wrote in a statement obtained by People on Tuesday.

The statement continued, “As everyone knows, Cesar Millan is one of the world’s most prominent dog training experts. Over his extraordinary career, Mr. Millan has fostered, and helped – literally – thousands of behaviorally troubled animals dogs – often with dogs at risk of being ‘put down.’ ”

The rep added that Matiss was “well aware of this” while visiting Millan’s training facility and “repeatedly returned to his property and ranch after the incident.”

As for the allegation that Queen Latifah’s dog was killed by Cesar’s dog, and the murder subsequently covered up by Cesar, well…

Millan’s rep called that accusation “a blatant lie.”

In the midst of all of this sad drama, Queen Latifah hasn’t said anything and continues not to get involved. People magazine reached out to Lidia for a comment about Cesar calling her a money-grubbing scammer, but she had no statement to issue.

Maybe Lidia can hire a pet medium to find out the truth and speak to Junior and Kiwi. The only potential roadblock I can predict is Cesar Millan himself. When he hears that the ghost of one of his closest dogs is about to spill some secrets of his time on Earth with Cesar, Cesar might get nervous that Junior will spill too much. “Uh, before we start this doggy seance, the one thing you need to know about Junior was that he had an issue with lying. Craziest thing, I just couldn’t train him to tell the whole truth!
