Lori Loughlin Is Returning To Acting In A Spin-Off Of “When Calls The Heart”

After Lori Loughlin was arrested and charged for her role in the College Admissions Scandal, Hallmark dropped her ass from the pioneer series When Calls The Heart. Well, now that Lori is out of prison after serving two months, she’s managed to get booked and busy! Hallmark has forgiven Lori for her financial crimes, and she’ll be back in the WCTH universe. She’ll reprise her role of Abigail Stanton in the spin-off When Hope Calls (working title: When Cancel Culture DOESN’T Call).

Deadline says that When Hope Calls will be back for a second season on a brand new network, GAC Family. Oh good, there aren’t enough networks and streaming services–we need MORE.

Having Loughlin on board for the Season 2 premiere in her return to acting after a year and a half is certain to bring attention to When Hope Calls — as well as GAC Family, which launched yesterday, Sept. 27 with the tagline “Stories Well Told.” Formerly Great American Country, the newly rebranded channel is run by President & CEO Bill Abbott, former CEO of Hallmark Channel parent Crown Media Family Networks, who is taking a page out of his old playbook in shaping GAC Family’s brand as a home of family-friendly, holiday-themed movies and series.

Lori will appear in the two-part premiere called When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas, which will air on  December 18. News of Lori’s potential employment came when it was announced that she received permission from a Boston federal judge to fly to Canada for about a week for “a filming production project.”

The first part of the premiere sees the town of Brookfield hosting a Christmas festival where they’re contending for Harper’s Bazaar’s search for America’s #1 Country Christmas Town. HIGH STAKES! Abigail (Lori) and her son, Cody (played by Carter Ryan), show up in the town and bring a “troubled boy” to the orphanage run by Lillian Walsh (played by Morgan Kohan). The second part seems intense as well, with a “secret Santa” who “appears to fulfill all holiday wishes, and Abigail has a profound conversation with a dear friend from the past.” 

Since we know that Lori had such a hard time in jail she’ll probably bring the raw emotion to her next role. She might get so intense she just shanks someone on set with a hairbrush because she was spooked and getting flashbacks to the correctional! She’s a changed woman!
