Kelly Price May Or May Not Have Been Missing For The Past Week
I realize we joke about celebrity disappearances from time to time because their careers tanked faster than the Titanic. But when one of them actually goes missing it kinda becomes a big deal, and with recent reports that gospel and R&B singer Kelly Price went missing in Georgia, many are hoping she’s OK. Yet conversely, her legal team has slapped back at those claims by reporting she’s alive and well and everything is all right! Hence a tornado of mismatched information and suspicion has arisen in the aftermath as everyone is now wondering exactly what’s going on.
Okay, I’m going to need everyone to pay close attention to this mess because the story has more WTF moments than an episode of Dateline NBC. Apparently, and according to TMZ, it all started back in late July when 48-year-old Kelly revealed that COVID-19 was no friend of hers as it had invaded her body like an unwanted house guest. She took to Instagram to let everyone know how she was feeling.
Not too long after posting her IG video, Kelly’s condition worsened, so she ended up in the hospital and even spent some time in the ICU. Now, normally once you’re in ICU you need to lay your ass down, eat tons of Jello-O and chill until the doctors release you or your insurance runs out. But this is where shit gets weird. Apparently, Kelly decided to leave on her own accord, even though her body was still booked and busy with COVID. But that didn’t stop her from discharging herself into the custody of her fiancé, a man whose identity Kelly has been keeping a secret like he’s one of the Avengers. And things got weirder because use apparently she didn’t tell her family she was leaving the hospital.
Kelly’s family told us her kids recently got a call that she was discharged, which surprised them because she was apparently not fully out of the woods.
The family says Kelly has gone radio silent and they told police her boyfriend is allegedly keeping her children from visiting her home … and it led the fam to have cops conduct a welfare check.
That welfare check happened last Saturday, September 18, when cops went to Kelly’s residence and encountered her fiancé, who let them know that everything was fine. And since authorities didn’t suspect foul play they added Kelly’s name to the missing person’s list. In an attempt to get more information about Kelly’s whereabouts, her sister Shanrae Cheree Price appeared on a segment during an interview with BNC News informing everyone that the last time her family had heard anything from Kelly was on August 13.
Now Kelly’s lawyer, Monica Ewing, has materialized from thin air to inform everyone that Kelly is fine and convalescing at an undisclosed location. Though she won’t give any further details than that.
Monica Ewing, Kelly’s rep, tells TMZ … the singer is continuing to recover from COVID at an undisclosed location. We’re told Kelly’s legal rep reached out to Cobb County police to notify law enforcement Kelly is accounted for…We asked Ewing to clarify why Price had seemingly been ignoring her family and what her current status was with her fiancé, Ewing reiterated Kelly is safe and recovering from COVID and is trying to get well and will further address the story later.
NOW, here’s the Gotcha! The Sun reports Kelly’s family is retracting the original allegation by stating Kelly is fine.
Hours after she was reported “missing,” Cobb County officials told The Sun that they were later notified that “Kelly has returned.”
“She is with family but the investigation remains ongoing so I cannot provide further details at this time,” the Major said.
Her daughter also confirmed that Price was not “missing,” according to CBS46.
I’m going to be mad as hell if all of this was a publicity stunt and Kelly drops an album called “Recovered” in the next few weeks because this would forever be a lesson on how not to do album releases.
