Dr. Dre Has To Pay Another $1.55 Million Of Nicole Young’s Legal Fees Amid Their Ongoing Divorce

Welp! Being worth a reported $800 million sure has its (few) downsides. Court papers show that Dr. Dre‘s assets actually total $243 million, but that didn’t stop a judge from making him pay up some more. Dre was ordered to pay an additional $1.55 million to estranged wife Nicole Young for her ongoing legal fees, on top of the $2 million she got from him for expenses and the $3.5 million a year she gets in temporary spousal support. See? The more money you have, the more money someone can take from you in a divorce.

Nicole filed for divorce from Dre back in 2020 after 24 years of marriage. The two have adult children, 24-year-old Truice and 20-year-old Truly. So they aren’t fighting over child support but they are fighting over spousal support and a prenup, which Dre wants to be upheld but Nicole claims he tore up in a romantic gesture years ago. Nicole kicked off the divorce by asking for a whopping $2 million a month since she knows Dre is rich AF, but obviously, that got lowered to a measly $293,306 a month, totaling $3.5 million annually. That temporary agreement will be null and void if she remarries or gets into a domestic partnership.

Page Six reports that the judge in their case ruled that Nicole deserves more money from Dre for her legal fees and household costs:

The judge estimated that Nicole’s reasonable legal fees in the case so far should total $3 million, plus costs. Dre will now have to pay $1 million towards the balance of her fees, plus another $550,000 in costs associated with the case, the judge ruled. The payment would be for fees and costs through July 2, 2021. But it is unclear what the eventual tab will be moving forward in the case.

Young and her lawyers had previously said fees in the case were close to $4 million. The court papers reflect that Young’s legal tab can cost up to $1,100 per hour. She is being repped in the case by hotshot celebrity attorney Samantha Spector.

The judge further ruled, as had been previously ordered, that Dre should pay Nicole $293,306 in monthly temporary spousal support–and that Dre must also pay for household costs including security, insurance, gardening, taxes, repairs and maintenance, retroactive to Sept. 1, 2020.

That comes to $3,812,987 over the past year, the judge estimated in the ruling, adding that the previously paid living expenses that Dre had turned over already may not have included all the costs for the home. The ruling also said that the parties must confer on any added expenses Dre owes Nicole on the household costs by next month.

The Blast adds that the judge called the added fees “reasonable and justifiable.” Also, Dre sued Nicole at the beginning of the month for allegedly stealing $350,000 from their bank accounts. But a source claims that Nicole has already paid the money back and she was entitled to it anyway since it’s a joint account.

Nicole seems to be mostly winning left and right, lately. I wonder what will happen once Dre’s alleged mistresses testify–I haven’t heard anything about them since July and they hadn’t testified yet. I guess it’s time for Dre to get back into the recording studio and get back at Nicole the only way he can: making another diss verse about her in a song. Maybe it will be a real hit and he’ll make the money back… and then Nicole can take it from him again!
