Shawn Mendes Says That Taylor Swift’s Boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, Has A “Villain” Look

Taylor Swift‘s boyfriend Joe Alwyn‘s eyes are giving “villain.” At least, according to Shawn Mendes, they are. Shawn gave his opinion on TSwfit’s man which might just get Shawn’s name added to Taylor’s Burn Book next to Scooter Braun.

Shawn Mendes did the Vanity Fair’s lie detector bit and had an interesting response when it came to a question about Joe Alwyn. Shawn went on tour with Taylor in 2015 and the interviewer asked him if they were still friends and if they still communicate. He said that they actually texted about a month ago and Shawn was always “asking her for advice on music.” So I guess he has high regard for Taylor’s musical choices. Her choices in men, not so much.

Joe and Taylor have been together for over four years now and there have been many rumors about them getting engaged. But maybe she should think twice before hooking herself to Joe legally since Shawn has some reservations! First Shawn said that he thinks Joe looked like a “sweet guy” but that he’d never actually met him. Well, the lie detector test determined: That was a lie. Shawn was immediately called out and changed his tune going into detail about why he is not Team Joe.

“I’m lying a little bit? Yeah, I mean, he’s kind of got a little bit of a villain look about him. He looks like a nice guy but, like, he at any movement could turn into a villain, you know? He’s got really blue eyes and I struggle with eyes that blue, you know? Like I find it easier to trust brown eyes. …I just talked way too much about him.”

In the video below, Shawn starts talking about Taylor and Joe at around the 7:07 mark.

The gag is that Taylor Swift reportedly has blue eyes too, so I guess they’re both just a couple of villains! Scooter Braun and his truthful brown eyes were right! But really, Vanity Fair should’ve asked him a real question, like: “Did you really think that Camila Cabello was giving Cher at the Met Gala, or no?”
